Patterson has ~900 career playoff minutes. Joseph has ~750. They are both mediocre at best playoff performers with not much of a track record. The rest of the Raptors bench has zero playoff experience. when you're going for a title you need veteran, proven, playoff producers who can handle playing a role. The Raptors bench is filled with developing youngsters. Ujiri is reacting to Derozan and Lowry getting pissed off about the team stock-piling 1st rounders and filling the bench with guys who get carded by security when they try to go into the Brass Rail strip club. This move is more about retaining Lowry than anything. Lowry is pissed off and is 1 step short from openly feuding with Casey. | ||

The Raps have a +13 net rating (per 100 possessions) with Patterson on the court and -. 5 w/o him (per kpelton). Even though I think Patterson is equal or even a little better now than Ibaka, they are pretty similar players so it looks good for Raps. Let's just hope they don't overpay for this "28"year old who has had a career arc of a player in his 30s now. Ibaka and Deng are my guesses for who were the thon Makers of their day boy  | ||

Lots of home playoff dates with no will to spend the kind of money required to make the team a title contender. Ujiri placates Lowry and keeps MLSE happy all with 1 move. Probability of the Raptors winning a championship is zero and Ujiri knows this better than everybody which is why the Raptors bench has gotten substantially younger since last year. The Raptors are an injury prone team with a bench of youngsters. | ||

Ujiri ain't stupid... he sees this and knows his own guys. Casey won't give Sullinger any more minutes because he is too fat. LOL. Lowry is an injury ticking time bomb. on the bright side, Bebeh has developed nicely from an average D-League player into a nice back up NBA front court player. i think their injury prone lineup will have someone get hurt and the ultra young bench won't be able to step in like it could last year. Last year's bench was more of a "win now" bench. so, no, i do not think the Raptors are the #2 team in the East. | ||
