From what little I've seen of Lakers games this year, I kind of like Kelly. I was a fan of his play at Duke, especially his shooting,, even though I was always rooting against him. Do you (or anyone else, I just know you're a LA fan) think he as a future as a corner three guy? If he can develop that skill, he'll be in the league for a decade easily should he not play terrible defense. Could a team win a title with Ryan Kelly as its 6th best player?

Pretty boring so far, biggest trade has been with Spencer Hawes. We'll see if Deng or Josh Smith get moved in the next half hour.

I mean that's a big IF on the defense part but if he can play decent defense and continue to develop his shooting I can see him working well on any team that runs a good structured offense.

He's definitely a good player for where he was drafted, hell he's getting some of the most minutes of his rookie class this year.

Oh boy, a decent trade! Danny Granger + 2nd rd pick for Evan Turner + Lavoy Allen.

Pacers get a cheap Granger replacement and insurance in case they can't re-sign Lance later, meanwhile 76ers are blowing it up.

they don't really need a granger replacement since he plays the same position as PG... they do need to worry about keeping lance. but for the rest of this season it should put them over miami

Granger replacement on the bench though. It was hoped that Danny would be a good scoring threat off the bench, but it became clear that he just can't. He's not the same player pre injury.

Fuck, this is a difficult day. Basketball wise its a fantastic trade. Turner is a far better player than Granger right now. It gives us an option if some team throws big money at Lance as well. But Danny Granger had been the face of this franchise for years. He gave Pacers fans something when we had nothing. Granger has been such a class act and a total pro his entire career. He told Larry Bird to draft PG, know what that meant in a few years. Gonna miss Granger greatly.

Echoing previous two posts. Even last year while PG was on that playoff tear emerging as a superstar, people(experts) were talking about how Granger is waiting in the wings as a proven NBA player to come back and give this team more scoring depth that it was clearly lacking vs Miami. It's such a shame how injuries work like that sometimes, you just can't ever guarantee that a guy is going to make it all the way back, especially when they're on the wrong side of 30.

Pacers better win the title this year. If not, I might be sick. And if they do, they should give Granger a ring.

Bird made a great move though. Can't underestimate the whole leverage against Stephenson negotiations either.

Injuries and cap issues create really heartbreaking situations like this. Nash, Granger, etc. These guys do everything right and want so badly to contribute to their teams, but their bodies betray them and cap issues make it so that their teams and fans cant' help but see them as liabilities.

I'll always have a soft spot for Granger because he was my first fantasy sleeper and he worked out so well until the end.
