Probably good that they have an EMT on staff ^^

I can honestly believe I wasn't picked because of the awkward location in Canada we are from. No direct flights (or anything convenient for that matter) to Atlanta or Atlantic City. Sigh. oh well.

Personally I am kind of jealous of the people who were hired and hope (and assume) they will do a fantastic job so that other live events might hire staff in a similar fashion. Grats to the winners (the people who were hired).

If you honestly think it matters what kind of experience they have (or your own experience for that matter) then you are just silly. They stated the requirements quite accurately in what they were looking for "intelligent" and in some cases "knowledge of SC2". Here on TL I would have to say that a pretty large majority of the community fits this description. The only other limiting factor is the age and location description. I'm shocked that there were fewer than 1000 applicants personally all (or nearly all) are probably over qualified so choosing the staff probably came down to people recognizable in the community for some positions and possibly a random drawing for the rest. Grats to the winners (the people who were hired). Your post is a little confusing First you say you are shocked people were disappointed, then you say you were disappointed. To your first point, It is called human nature, when people try for something and fail disapointment is a typical reaction this disappointment can manifest as anger, condusion, sadness, jealousy etc... This is more pronouced in motivated high achieving people of which it seems there were quite a few who applied to help out. From your post you state jealousy is your reaction to not being picked.

He should have never offered me the PAID position if IGN was never going to get my work visa. T.T extremely disappointed IGN.

Then the next day i get told i cannot be paid because i don't have a work visa. So i called the US Embassy//Homeland Security and i inquired, I was told IGN had to apply for the work visa. He should have never offered me the PAID position if IGN was never going to get my work visa. T.T extremely disappointed IGN. They may have assumed you were an American. I made sure in my cover letter, resume and interview that I was a Canadian citizen and if they chose to give me a monetary payment they would have to aquire a work visa for me to be eligible to work in the US. Work visas aren't cheap. You shouldn't blame IGN because you are not eligible to work in the US.
