Lol IdrA again? Does he get the laptop if he wins or does it just sit in the dust waiting for someone to beat him
I mean it's just hilarious the way that works Cant wait to tune in for this one!!!
Who's awesome? SirScoots is awesome.
Edit: Good luck to EG. Hoping Incontrol and Machine do well.

IdrA performs the geek block. The tournament winner gets a chance at winning an MSI notebook in addition to the cash prize, to get the notebook he has to beat IdrA in a series (Bo3?).
Woah, wheat AND day9?? Awesome player roster too! I'll have to watch this.
Very exciting. I thought for a second it was on g4 the television station, but this is still very cool.

I think they said during the last tournament that EG players are not eligible for the laptop prize, guess they've each got one already courtesy of MSI.
So does this G4 deal mean that the action won't be streamed on djwheat's stream? No matter really, will definitely be tuning in, the casting lineup is too good to pass.
This is awesome man, hope Machine does well. It's a great weekend for StarCraft in general :D
Can't wait. EG had a really good tournament last time
Any info on the quality of the stream and all that?
I just looked at the timeslot(s) for this on G4 and it is covered with Cops/Cheaters How come they are putting it on their website only; Wouldn't SC2(or anything "G4" related) draw in more viewers than reruns of Cops? Will be watching nonetheless
LaJon, lets just say...your mind will be blown.
Why can't G4 just show it on their TV station instead of Cops or Ninja Warrior?

This looks incredible. Hopefully it gets a ton a views so G4 notices it. Then they can decide to put some more tournaments on TV

It's the EG Master's Cup why wouldnt they want Idra at the end.. They want the EG player to win at the end of the event so you give the top EG player the freebee match.
Less ragging on G4TV and more being excited that we're actually beginning to cover more SC2 on G4TV.com would be a good step in the right direction guys! We at G4TV.com are so excited to be able to work with EG and Stream this awesome event.

Well, I know how I'm spending my weekend! This is going to be awesome!

Great news and great work EG management! Keep up the awesome work you guys do.

On December 17 2010 10:45 Hikko wrote: Why can't G4 just show it on their TV station instead of Cops or Ninja Warrior?
Probably because they would get more viewers by doing it online to be honest, although they could answer it themselves. By doing it online they get more viewers from other countries, and besides G4TV is not currently on DirecTV, which would hold back a lot of viewers from watching it here in the US also. Still, definitely a good first step.

Prove us wrong and put the event on TV live as well as the stream, I know that y'all can make it happen. I used to love G4 and watched it more than any other station back in the day before the merger with Tech TV. Even replayed content of gaming related television is much better than reruns of the same series that aren't related one bit to what your channel is supposed to be about.
Please give gamers gaming content!
please incontrol win it so we can see incontrol vs idra!

Online is best as it's G4's first participation in it. If production goes well and viewership goes well improvements can be made. This is a step in the right direction, which is what we as fans of esports should want. So grateful for G4 getting in on this and I hope you guys like what you get! :D

Exciting I can watch sc2 on my the television! SWEEET! and casted by djwheat and day9 even SWEETER!
I like turtles
also when am I going to get a non Terran opponent in r1

lol IdrA is the "final boss" xD
for some reason when I first glanced at this I thought it meant it was gonna be on television. But this is still really cool.

Did anyone else find this response strange? When it was initially made, and even now on page 3, no one 'ragged' on G4TV but rather questioned why a station devoted to video games plays cops reruns all day. Sensitive much?
lol this is going to be sweet. will tune it for sure.
Lets all watch this and show g4tv and the west how many are willing to tune in and watch this kind of tournaments and posibly help them decide on more.
This seams to be their response to SC2 making so far in their "DeathMatch" event they had, we should show them that we are going to give them viewers for this. And maybe start more tournaments and increase reward, this is how it started in Korea with ONG.
Wait is this live stream on their website or on their TV channel? And which one is their channel int he few minutes are run thought my TV channels I have no idea what is. Is it Spike?
anyone got link to the brackets?

No, it's online but their channel is kind of rare for some TV providers, I know fucking DirecTV just dropped them but they used to be 310. But yea it's online.
on g4tv? this is gonna be sick. lets go qxc to take it all!
if more ppl tune into this it can open up a path for sc on american television. if you want to see american esports get big - this is the chance imo
This will be GREAT . I am so excited!
Woot! Can't wait to not study for my exams because I'm being forced by my inner starcraft devil to watch!!!
Damn thought was gonna be on actual television, regardless I will be tuning in.
I'm so glad that G4 is taking a break from Cops reruns to broadcast some actual gaming content. At least it's online though, because every TV provider besides Comcast dropped them.
Going to be baller! Especially with G4's additional hype
Everyone must tune in for this! Might be a test to see how many viewers they can get to see if putting it on tv will work :D
Is lzgamer still in EG? Wish he was in this
tru dat!
Step 1: g4tv.com Step 2: g4TV Step 3: ??? Step 4: world domination
:D
hah, idra as the final boss yet again
will be sure to tune in
The Previous one was really awesome. Liking this tourney
At first I misread this and thought it was going to be featured on the actual G4TV channel .. awesome nonetheless! A step towards mainstreaming an eSports industry in America.

Everytime they ran into eachother in the MLGs it was random but as soon as they probably won't you assume it isn't?
Wow this is going to be a great opportunity, think about it, if G4TV sees the stream numbers blow up to over 10k like last time, or see the production quality out of a tournament run at casa de scoots, the possibilities for a tv show to POTENTIALLY pick up a small SC2 show some day goes up quite a bit.
I can't wait, absolutely can't wait for this.
On December 17 2010 14:42 Loomies wrote:Is lzgamer still in EG? Wish he was in this
Yeah he's still on EG lol, but the qualifiers this time were unreal, there were 5 people per bracket that could have been seen as finalists, and plenty of dark horses.
PS: Everyone knows theres COVERAGE by g4tv, that doesn't mean it'll be on TV just means they'll be paying attention and probably writing up some articles or doing interviews for it online.
Will there be an actual audience and location? Im too down to go with some of my ppl I cant seem to find anything about it other than its located in LA.
woo this is great news! I would like to see incontrol vs. sjow that would be exciting :D
Masters cup was epic last time, probably will be just as good this run. What I really hope is that enough people support this tourney not only for EG, but to show G4 that they can get large amounts of viewers for SC2. They might consider dumping some of those goddamn Cops and Cheaters episodes to give us some eSports...well, I can dream...
dident know justin wong played for eg, cool to find out though
I understand that showing it on tv could lead to some people not related to sc2 watching it, but overall I don't see it as necessary in order for sc2 to become even bigger.
Who even watches tv anymore? The internet is far superior and we should be glad to already have that for us and don't have to rely on tv channels...
On the tournament: Looking forward to it, great casting, great player and an end boss

This is honestly right up there with MLD, IEM and GSL for me. The production is top notch, the games are great, and the casting is perfect. The last few of these were amazing, and I can't wait for more!
GL everyone! Hope someone finally gets that MSI!
Also, I'm very glad to see G4TV as a sponsor. This is very good for them, and mainstream media covering SC2.

We all appreciate your effort I'm sure SpiNN but I think the ragging on G4 is warrented. It would be great to see something like this on a G4 timeslot. My gf's dad is the only one I know who watches G4 more than out of curiosity and his internet limit is too low to watch a whole streamed tournament. So he'd appreciate catching something like this on G4 I'm sure. He watches ultimate gamer just for the matches in the end of them heh. As of now this is just another streamed tourney, but with good commentators. So here's hoping G4 takes one more seriously in the future. gl either way.
yeah I knew something happened to them cause I used to be able to watch them on my charter TV but now they don't show up anymore.
awe was hoping to watch it on Ustream o wells hope the stream is as good on G4
Okay all you guys (or maybe there's only one of you) whining about this not being on tv - that's such a greedy set of expectations! You're doing the casting equivalent of going 14 Nexus, way too greedy of a build order.
It's g4's first SC2 event, of course they would put it online - especially when day9, WHEAT, and Scoots are going to be in control of the content. I don't think TV channels ever just put non-employees live on air with no previous broadcasting experience, even if they have sick web shows.
Hey guys, here are some details that may in fact clear up some of the questions you have:
- The tournament will be broadcasted via the djWHEAT uStream and embedded on G4TV - I think you'll be very happy with the quality of the stream especially if you tuned into the last EG Masters. SirScoots has been very busy working on production and it's really paid off! - The tournament is broadcasted LIVE from a studio, but there is no audience, and the players are still conducting the games online. (let's hope we can get an audience going in 2011!) - I'm really excited!
GSL FINALS THEN EG MASTERS YAY!

If there are some G4 people watching : I've recently been considering the option the remove G4 from my television channels package since I hardly watch it anymore (too much SC2 streams to check online). However, the fact it's starting to take Starcraft 2 more seriously as shown by this event coverage made me change my mind! I will keep it at least for some time in the hope to one day see some SC2 matches live on TV. In any case, this is a step in the right direction, great job!

This looks to be a great tournament! I'm ready is it 230 yet?

awesome stream. and G4TV.com even sponsoring. But i think the sponsors are not really taking advantage for the screen space. I dont mean taking up the whole screen in their logo. But if it wasnt for this thread, I may have not even known that G4TV was sponsoring it. probably would have been nice if they had a G4TV logo right behind the casters would have been good enough. MSi has the laptops but would have been nice to see them put their logo out there, though te MSi on the laptop may actually be good enough.
so awesome how wheat and day are in the bottom right.
really like how eg handles this stuff
Slush didn't seem to have a handle on that game at all.
No DJwheat, Slush was never close to winning that game.
IdrA the final Boss hahaha I <3 you djWHEAT!!
Is winning with banelings at 8 minutes considered cheesing? : /
From those brackets ill bet n a QXC vs Sjow finals with QXC winning the whole thing
Super laggy and I don't have a bad connection. Anyone restreaming? lol
The video is also very laggy on my end. The sound is fine but the game itself keeps staggering.
The commentating is just light years ahead of anything else imho. Seriously, I don't know how people can even compare Day9 to Tastosis. He's so so much better at virtually everything imo.
Edit: Wrong thread. Turns out this is not in fact a Live Report thread. =/
Does anyone have a link to the bracket? I can't seem to find it anywhere.
Between this and GSL, I have seen a lot of commentators buying time with random discussion while connection issues are happening. I think that if anyone has been rocked by the lack of LAN the most, it is probably the commentators who now have to be able to talk for 15 minutes about random stuff at any time.

To be fair, this tournament wouldn't be a LAN anyways. The players aren't actually showing up live to play in this.

Anyone who's not watching needs to check the stream out. Some EXCELLENT games going on!

When asked as a child, "What do you want to be when you grow up?" IdrA responded "END BOSS".

This was a really great event. From my end of the stream it seemed to be the smoothest event I have seen yet. Very minimal down time, great games, great casters, everything just seemed come together flawlessly

djWHEAT will be posting vods as he gets time to get them edited and uploaded over the next few days. You guys have to be patient! He is coming back today, I think. Remember, it's Christmas time and he has a wife and a miniwheat to worry about.

Perfect stream quality, prefect casters, and a perfect event. Great work to everyone involved.
