Figures to get you guys to actually talk about travelling I have to bring up McDonalds lol.
In general I like fast food chains better outside the US. They're higher quality food than they are in the US (generally speaking), and what they're really useful for is getting food that you know for sure will not make you sick if you're in some situation where that's important.
Bacteria won't touch that stuff.
But man, I don't understand why you'd not eat Thai food every day in Thailand. I suppose after 6 months I'm allowed one cheeseburger. But I still regret it.

Nice thing about being vegitarian is I don't even get tempted to go into a McDo. All they have there for me that I'd eat is fries and shakes, and those suck anyway.
|
Aren't fries and shakes the best things at McDonalds?

Since we're talking fastfood, never got the fascination with in and out. It's like a slightly better mcd burger when you can pay a couple of $ for a better burger at some bar around the corner.

In and out is cheap for decent quality and id rather get that over MCD's overpriced burgers

I think I can only eat it when I'm starving and would be willing to eat anything. in n out is really good though. when I visited cali I didn't mind having it more than once since it was good. so to have it called a slightly better mcd burger to me is bizarre. Then again I haven't eaten at an American MCD's. People just hype it up like its some amazing food when its pretty sub par compared to a real burger.

What's a good movie on Netflix to watch?
edit - oh cool, Horns is on Netflix

American fast food is eaten because its cheap, not because its good food.
Internationally the food quality and pricing is different in comparison to local stuff, so different kinds of people go there and its altogether a different experience.
Also oh my god this haze in Kuala Lumpur I can't see shit this is incredible and bad.
Maybe I should buy a mask...

I wonder if anybody has ever taste tested different countries McDonalds. The one I went to in Thailand was way better than the US. Fries were outstanding, restaurant much cleaner, Big Mac even tasted better. Thing that was always weird to me is you have a bunch of students sitting in it studying and doing work like a social thing. I mean I guess there was a time where I'd hang out with a friend or two at McDonalds when I was a kid, but it wasn't doing homework. This sounds so anime. Watched this same situation hundreds of times.
Some of the ones with nicer lounge areas are alright to hang out in. Me and some friends used to play monster hunter (portable 3rd) at a McD's because it has power outlets, infinite drinks for $1, and wifi if we needed it for anything.

edit - oh cool, Horns is on Netflix If you're still looking, I'd recommend a couple I've watched recently.
Apocalypse Now is on Netflix and is amazing if you haven't seen it. Has aged well, was quite an experience. It is long, however, and quite subtle in how it gets its points across so it demands quite a lot from the viewer.
The Hunt is also on Netflix, but this recommendation comes with a couple caveats. First, it's foreign language, so it requires an abnormal amount of attention paid. Second, the subject matter is quite, uh, heavy and thus the movie does not lend itself to light entertainment. That said it's an excellent film that I really enjoyed.

I hate almost all American fast foods chains here, but I'm NGL, I do go to Burger King on Wednesdays like two times a month, and KFC/Popeyes is always a yes for me.
Wish we had some of the southern fried chicken joints, like Churches or Bojangles.
edit: I know they say West Coast has In-N-Out and East Coast has 5 Guys, but I think 5 Guys is pretty overrated. Haven't been West Coast since I was like 6, so I haven't friend what In-N-Out is like though.

I haven't had a dream for the past 5 years - keeping it realistic - but now my dream is to earn a boatload of money, go back home and open a Vietnamese esports brand, despite the volatility of the scene.
But gotta finish college first.

Bojangles is heavenly. Their biscuits are superior and they have a rice bowl option.
