Went to a McDonalds outside the states for the first time today.

The mcnuggets tasted like mcnuggets.

The fries tasted like fries.

The burger was a little off.

And it was all seasoned with a tangible amount of regret and self loathing.

McDonalds taste the same no matter where you go. A hot steaming turd in your mouth but it's the same turd so when you in a bind and need something you know you can always rely on that turd.

I felt like the beef wasn't quite right somehow. Not sure.

I wonder if anybody has ever taste tested different countries McDonalds.

Singaporean McDonalds tasted better than American McDs to me. And they had McSpicy.

Yeah the one in Melaka that I went to had mcspicy too. And mc Ayam goreng, which I found cute.

McD in any country that isn't America is better than McD in America. It might not look like the ads, but it's a hel of a lot closer. Plus, the local menu items are da bomb.

Sorry guys, but McDonalds doesn't taste the same anywhere. Case in point: McDonalds Rome. Seriously look up pictures of it if you don't believe me.

It's marginally different between Canada and the USA, in terms of flavour/taste, with a few differences in menu too. I probably couldn't tell the difference anymore since my sense of taste has deteriorated, but I had a McDonalds addiction at one point and got a little too familiar with the flavours, which also change by location and time of day within the same city (obvs).

Japan was fairly different, although they didn't have any beef when I went there due to an issue with sourcing it from China.

The one I went to in Thailand was way better than the US. Fries were outstanding, restaurant much cleaner, Big Mac even tasted better. Thing that was always weird to me is you have a bunch of students sitting in it studying and doing work like a social thing. I mean I guess there was a time where I'd hang out with a friend or two at McDonalds when I was a kid, but it wasn't doing homework.

No idea why anyone would ever go to McD. I could deal with it being lower quality to get food quickly. But the prices do not fit that quality at all. Which is because of the extra fee you pay for the brand. I only go there if I can find absolutely nothing else when travelling, which almost never happens. There are so many better alternatives.

When I was hosting the Quebec friend we grabbed McDonald's one evening because couldn't be arsed to cook at 10 PM and it was either that or sandwhiches since most takeaway food stores were closed at that time. Might as well grab hot food and desserts over snacks.
(Price didn't matter to me, I have around 300€ lying around in lunch vouchers. I even use them to pay for drinks when I tell the barman I'm more likely to offer drinks to my friends if I can pay this way.)

It's not that big here, well people will go to it sometimes to grab a quick meal, but it's not really something you do often, and the brand isn't that popular. Feels like their Happy Meal stuff made them more popular years ago when there was the whole family thing going on. It's much less the case now.
Dunno if coming from Quebec made the choice more appealing but she thought about it much faster than I'd have (then again, heating up some quick stuff wouldn't have bothered me and wouldn't have tasted any worse).

McD's gives me the runs. Reason enough to not go there....BK and Wendy's are good though, Wendy's pulled pork is decent for being above the Mason-Dixon.
