Claymore as mentioned was pretty good. If you not fussy over where that ahype takes play then Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann is a must for that kind of thing. Kingdom is also great if you want the whole sword/shield type era fighting. Just the first season with CGI is a bit iffy, second does away with most of that. Magi - The Labyrinth of Magic is also good if you want more fantasy/magic setting. Hellsing Ultimate is the more dark bloody action mess with vampires. Fate/Stay Night and Fate/Zero are set in a modern fantasy setting with action elements and pretty good. You'll want to watch the Unlimited Blade Works 2014 one that has a second season starting now though.

FSN' animation and "directing" is ass from what I saw, 2014 version included, though.

That along with the animation of the first season being a bit suspect makes people say S1 isn't that great but S2 is definitely good. FSN animation is pretty good, it's ufotable so about on par with F/Z but not quite KnK level obviously.

The things you get from companies or whatever that are actually funny don't make up for how everybodies IQ seems to collectively go down for a day.
