If you're interested in learning general history/events of the region, Salvatore's novels or the corresponding D&D splatbooks make more sense. Though the games are worth playing in their own right (especially with Pillars of Eternity coming out this week), they're also really not a small undertaking by any means. EDIT: NWN probably does more general lore exposition of the region than the Infinity Engine games, PX is right. But it's also a much more boring game to play (the base campaign of the original NWN is mind-numbingly boring). | ||
