Fk, I want to try some new videogames, but I don't even know what I'm looking for, I just know what I'm not looking for.
I don't want anything that resembles diablo3 with the dull combat, loot porn and lack of story. Hated all of it.
I don't want a shallow strategy game, played some Plague Inc., EU4, XCOM:EU but found the games repetitive and boring really quickly.
I don't think I want an FPS, cba to aim.
I don't want to play a FE game or anything too similiar, had too much of that already.
I'm just hoping Ill find a gem just like I found dominions4 but I doubt it. Maybe I should give up on videogaming apart from LoL/dom4.

It's decent, but it doesnt really compare to Dominions 4 in the scope of depth and complexity he's asking for (which you should try btw sufficiency).
Mages in DA:O are still broken. Because everything from Mana clash instakilling enemy mages (whom are really the main threats in everything but boss battles anyways), mass healings/buffs, and never-die Arcane Warrior (tank+fight better than warriors!), and Blood Magic (blood wound op, also using health as a resource is why Vlad is toxic). Literally everything you could ask for.
They're still crazy in Awakening, but Rogue DPS catches back up with bows, and Warriors get Fade Warrior. But mages are still the best class, because you can still Storm of the Century everything dead and not give a shit.

If I were recommending a CRPG, DAO wouldn't be in my top 10.
It's not a bad game, it just so happens that the crowd it's trying to please happens to have played games that all did what it tries to do better (BG I+II, IWD, PS:T, etc.).

I wouldn't judge a Bioware RPG by it's combat. That's like playing a Doom game for the story, lol.
The bigger problem is the heavily recycled plot/character elements that make it feel like a huge rehash if you've played BG2, KotOR, or Mass Effect.
