Chapter 1-6: the Freddy-is-a-god phrase. Unlike some of the other FE games on Hard Mode, for this one you have to make Freddy kill some units by himself - otherwise your other units will get overwhelmed. His Silver Lance's durability needs to be kept sufficiently high for Chapter 5 in particular (vs Lucina).

Chapter 7 (?) - 12: the Ike-is-a-(farm)-god phrase. First sell all the items you get until you can afford to recruit a level 20 hero (I chose Ike). Yes, including stats-boosting ones. Make sure he has Armthrift. Then summon Leif from Thracia 766 and buy a Leif's Blade for Ike. This allows you to farm SpotPass teams for gold (the best option is Deirdre because her entire team is ranged). Make sure you tag Ike with someone like Maribelle or Lissa to boost his resist and luck. When it comes to the actual levels, stock up weapons and let Ike tank.

Chapter 13-18: the Tactician-is-a-god phrase. I chose a female Tactician with Magic+ Strength-. Since she is the first ranged character and has +50% EXP from Veteran, she grew really fast. I went for Grandmaster -> Dark Flier -> Sorcerer. I probably could have gone for a round of Sage (Tomeflare is nice), but chose not to. With Nosferatu, she was practically invincible after becoming a Sorcerer. For the rest of the crew, I used mostly Mirelle and Libra (same Nosferatu abuse). I had some success with Lucina, Donnell, and Chrom, but without any kind of reliable sustain they just weren't that good.

Chapter 19 - 25: the Morgan-is-a-god phrase. I gave Galeforce to Morgan who kind of replaced his mother. Morgan went for Mercenary -> Hero -> Sage -> Sorcerer to get Armthrift. Overall he was much better than his mother because his caps are a little better and he was very easy to train due to his high base stats inheritance. I finished the last chapter with only 4 units, Tactician, Chrom, Morgan, and a filler for Tactician (I chose Mirelle who had A-support and very high stats herself). The final boss was a little underwhelming - Morgan proc'ed a good Vengeance and Chom Dual-Stroke twice - and she was basically dead. My Tactician stayed behind to distract all the pesty healers with Physic.


I totally forgot the bonus maps from SpotPass, to be honest. I could have totally recruited Priam and made everything even easier for the last level. Oh well.

Pretty simple even playing semi-blind (I had a previous Hard run until chapter 18). Even though each kill from spotpass team only gives 1 EXP, you can still use those to grind healers (Recover gets you a lot of EXP). This in combination with the infinite money (SpotPass max-level Hero + Leif's Blade) makes grinding very easy for classes that can use Staves.

The first a few levels were quite challenging, but still not THAT hard once you understand that Freddy will steal SOME experience.

However, one major issue I saw was that I depended greatly on Sorcerers and Nosferatus. There are just too many units on the board and they are too accurate. Even the most well-trained units will not be able to withstand an onslaughter unless he has sustain from Nosferatu.
