Second season of Starcraft II’s premier team competition begins this October.
Format
12 teams are expected to compete in the winter split, with applications now open for pro teams.
Teams wishing to compete can send an email to 273591998@qq.com, please include the following details in your application:
- Team name
- Team logo in either PSD, PNG or AI format
- Liquipedia entry (optional if team is new)
- Roster (3-10 players, can include players you are expecting to sign)
- Manager contact info (Wechat is the preferred communication method)
- Team player photos (png with transparent background, preferably with team jersey on)
Application deadline is Friday, Sep 10 4:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00), team roster locks in on September 20th. Minimum roster size is 3 players, up to 10 players. Camera and zoom calls will be required.
Regular season will be round robin, with top 7 advancing to proleague style playoff bracket.
New to this season is the addition of relegation: bottom two finishers will be eliminated, and the two slots will be available for contention in the 2022 Spring Split's qualifier.

Player with most regular season wins: $155/￥1,000

BTW the gist is if there are way more than 12 teams signing up they might do qualifiers for a few spots, undetermined for now.

As opposed to Summer. The finals are in the titled season, the round robin is the season leading up to the Winter/Summer season.
Just trying to justify the names here. The 2021 Summer season started in the end of winter/beginning of spring.

Wow, what a twist.
You know even though it may surprise some progamers, I think it's a good thing.
It's probably gonna help upsets a bit with some player prepping build on specific maps more progamer aren't use too. It's not to bad if one map is broken either since it's only one map in one tournament. Plus I'm due for a mix up of maps.
On the bad side, I'll now have images of queen walk on Overgrowth in my brain for the rest of my life.

Round 1 matchup is out, some interesting matchup is AX vs AF and possibly PsiStorm vs SR.
