I think koreans just play more confident in longer series because they know they're bettwr and getting cheesed won't be enough to eliminate them.
Whereas in bo3 you get cheesed 1 time and suddenly your 1 game from losing the series.

From a pure win% standpoint, I can see how the difference between bo3 and bo5 is minimal. But when it comes to actual players there seems to be a big difference. It's much easier to catch someone of guard with 2 allins than 3. And generally players will have more time to adapt to their opponent, and in many cases take the match more seriously
