Esports is about winning. Look at people who are still playing warcraft 3, broodwar, and sc2 despite #deadgame. These guys aren't going to be millionaires from playing in the GSL they are doing it for passion.

That's why even during infestor broodlord and mass swarmhost epic lame-fests, there were players who would consistently play that style because it was the best chance of winning. It didn't matter how much the viewer hated it.

Allow me to be elitist for a moment. For people who really appreciate competition, lameness has to be a component of the metagame. Like GSP in the UFC who would ground and pound every. single. opponent. Or Hungrybox who plays the stupidest fucking character in super smash bros. It adds a dimension to the possibility of the game.

I absolutely agree, for the competitors it's about winning, but for the game developers it's about making a good show (which is why people complain about adepts, we're not blaming the player, we want Blizzard to adjust it)

for the fans, it's their choice, I actually like both players that just win and players who make it look good
