Not expecting it to be this late.. it is 10pm already for Koreans right? I guess it is Friday but still... maybe give ways to other tournament or catering for latenight audience?
Actually come to think of it 10PM is not bad if your tournament is online only and on a Friday night. you might want to avoid clashing with all sorts of TV shows/programs And it is not really that late if you think of the ages of the typical esports audience edit: also very comfy studio setup. Actually quite nice for online tournament

it's not about direct return on investment, it's about branding, name recognition etc

Sponsorship money
Also they're a TV channel so they operate on more than just stream numbers.

Sometime I wish I can curl up in my bed and watch this kind of tournament directly on TV... Oh well curl up in my bed with laptop is not that bad

This was supposed to be online? That would have sucked :O
Would have been a lot easier for the players.
They get to play live, on TV! :O
I think?
Or have those days been long gone?
And if they're really lucky their match isn't done by the time public transportation closes in Seoul for the day and they can have a slumber party in the studio.

Tank window mines into bc. Classic open with colossus tech so I guess it leaves a huge time window for TY to get enough BCs to get the death ball rolling

People cry about adepts, but show me what other opening than Stargate and unit comp works at all vs T. Yeah. Only one opening and composition does that. Not a fan of adepts (zealot - I miss you), but doing anything different is basically suicide.

Sure. But seeing Classic win fights on even supply where half his adepts (so like 25) weren't even shooting makes me want to throw up.
I'd rather Protoss still made actual units instead of adepts. Sadly that's not the game we're playing. Protoss can't play without adepts. And really even if they could there's no reason to.
Eh another win for herO against Dear, nothing new.

Adepts are such cool units though, you select them all and shade on the enemy army. Who doesn't love to watch that?

Actually if you're Classic you have half of them vigorously attacking a wall-in and the other half bump into each other trying to get a concave of any sort to fight from.

They're just doing the infamous "butt-bump" move to frustrate enemies and confuse them. That's why it's so effective.

According to Polt, if protoss make only 2 units (adepts / Phoenix) either the game is broken, or P are stupid to expect to win with so few different units. Reading your post makes me puke too . I guess that's why Dear fell off, he took really bad engagements but won when adepts weren't nerfed yet.

What a bad day for risking Liquibets >.<
I can't fault you for betting on TY but the other two, man you're a risk taker.
can't fault him for Ryung either
Ryung's TvZ is horrible compared to his other MUs. If you watched him play against Zerg at IEM and still voted for him here I can totally fault you for that.
Well, bit of luck there with the timing for ByuN. But overall jjakji didn't really get anything done this series.

Ryungs TvZ isn't worse than Losira's
I mean come on, Losira
Yeah it is.
For all the stupid things he does Losira also sometimes shows great mechanical prowess in TvZ and he brings a lot of weird shit to the table to trip up his opponents in general.
I haven't seen an impressive bio TvZ game from Ryung since the BL/Infestor days and his mech is only ever decent.
Someone may need to change the upcoming events schedule for SSL Premier though, I don't think the matches for Week 2 and 3 are gonna happen next Monday together.
