He came in 3rd in both his GSL qualifier group and his SSL qualifier. And a match or two away in the wildcard spot

I guess there's also the fact that the KR scene probably doesn't have the same sort of B-team infrastructure anymore.

I think it was probably harder when WoL came out to have a GM account as a foreigner playing cross server

The little I saw of Cham was impressive. I hope to see the same now. Let's hope he doesn't get nervous or anything. Could be a helluva battle! Really? I am not a pvz expert by far but Jim vs Cham seems to me like an pretty scrappy game with Jim losing more then Cham winning but then again Guru vs Showtime gave me that impression. You could be right of course, I didn't see the whole thing, cooking and stuff waiting for the stream to come back, but yeah, what little I saw looked interesting. I have never seen Cham before. Jim plays really weird so it's hard to assess Cham's level from that series.
But Jim effectively ended #YearOfHarstem2016?

Code A season 1 was 60 players, I think that's about the number you can describe as pros (since you get casters, rookies and amateurs in qualifiers aswell). And many of them share ladder accounts.

Can't be very many. JD got into Code A 1st season by beating one player called bmw.

And ZvMKP, which is where the all-ins work even better.

That should make about 100 really strong accounts while the other ones are very strong don't get me wrong but accessible for top GM foreigners.
