Tried SCII for the first time on a new (old) dual 7950s setup, upgraded from a 560Ti. Got terrible flickering problems but fortunately a quick googling found the fix for that.
Max settings and VSR from 1440p is pretty and all but I'll stick with Hybrid settings for laddering

I've complained a lot about it in the past, but I think the casters should put more effort into playing the game on a regular basis and following the high level metagame at a deeper level.
I like that the Korean casters do this, so sometimes I listen to spotv even though my Korean is very limited at this point.

they both have the same chance to advance and prepare for the match. hack had to fight through tough qualifiers and he just prepared better thats all theres is to it

The problem is that you guys are expecting too much. Going out in Code S Ro16 and whatever else you call "fall" is an amazing achievment and only an exclusive elite of players goes beyond that. It's not a fall or a slump or anything if you can't make semi-finals, it just means that there a 4other really amazing players in this game.

Probably some hype, i dont deny that. But that game was still really good, at least in my eyes. The 5s is arguably too high, i agree. But even "not that good games" score high when the games before that game havent been that good.

I'd agree if we set the bar at ro8. His KeSPA Cup run was really good, then soO happened and well you can't be sad that you lost to the player with the most momentum going for him these days. If he had lost Classic it'd have been another of meh, beat 1 player then went down immediately.
It depends of the groups too, if he's in a group of death in the ro16 going out at this stage would be quite normal.

He looked pretty decent in game 2, game 3 went wrong with the BO immediately and I have absolutely no idea what he was even trying to achieve in game 1, that was the kind of play I'd expect to see in the first group stage of a Dreamhack from some foreign GM.
There are some pretty mediocre seeded players I'd say he could have beaten tho. YoDa, Blaze...

His win was with a really funky strategy while his losses weren't really exciting games. Also, check out the ratings for his series against Classic, the ratings for the games Classic won were higher even though they weren't more or less entertaining.

I agree with this, people expect from Flash nothing else but bonjwa status, they talk about the hype train derailing everytime, but hes the only one of the only original BW bonjwa playing at the highest level at the moment. I think people should realize being a bonjwa in SC2 might not be a possibility, if Flash ever won one code S, I would be totally satisfied. The game seems too volatile and gimmicky to allow bonjwa.

if only people would stop posting 'omg flash is back hype train' every time he wins a match (even ironically) this probably wouldn't be an issue
he does have impossible expectations to live up to either way
