No, proxy means outside of your base closer to your opponent. Everything else is just hidden, but people call it proxy because reasons.

Sorry dude. But what I describe is what it has come to mean over time. It's quite clear if you watch all casts, that outside main and nat = proxy.
If I hide a twillight and shrine cross on Cactus, the casters would say proxy. Because that's what the word means in SC terms.
