Yep ![]() I had a very bad feeling when at dreamhack before the finals Solar said something like "soO is very good at being second, it will stay like this" and then crushed him 3-0, I was like "OMG soO must be totally devastated now, he will need a crazy amount of resilience to come back after this" It seems it was a bit too much... Now, I hope he will have a good break with friends and family to rebuild his mental strength and hopefully win a title in 2015. (don't want to sound too grim, but I can help thinking about DRG when he lost both GSL and GSTL and took like a year and a half to come back...)

Did you guys see the games? soO played incredibly well, I was rooting for Taeja and still thought soO was about to roll through him a bunch of times.

Yeah and that's why I don't have a good feeling about it, he should have won game 1 to start things off. Lately soO is like making misatkes, then making incredible comebacks to only make an even bigger mistake. He threw that game 1 like he threw the game 5 (?) on deadwing in GSL finals : overextending, all-ining and being stubborn on wanting to end the game as early as possible. But really I hope I'm wrong because he's the best zerg in the world and it would be a shame if he went into a bad slump cycle....

That's the main problem with soO's ZvT. He's always just "about" to roll through his opponent. He mindlessly sacrifices his army into the Terran's defense, hoping to do enough damage. If the Terran isn't mechanically perfect and imune to pressure, like ForGG, the Terran gets destroyed ; if the Terran is a mechanical beast and doesn't give a fuck about being attacked constantly/knows how to respond/is very good at defending, like INno or TaeJa, the Terran just has to hold and then roll through the Zerg who spent all his gas and mineral into constantly rebuilding an army without increasing his muta count or teching to a really high-tech army. The fact that soO apparently loves his Ultras without support doesn't help. Even as a TaeJa non-fan, I think you have to admit that guy is exceptionnal in his playing, and ballsy too. Look at his G3 vs soO, the move when he takes his fourth forward is beautiful and changes the game.

Yes he was aggressive, but he was never overextending, he was using more runbyes and would always let the Terran come to him on the creep instead of trying to bust with his whole army... The difference between the 2 looks a confidence issue to me, but again, I'm porbably (and hopefully) wrong.

He definitely has the skill to be one of the best if not the best, but lately his decision making kinda sucks... I hope it's not a confidence issue too, but sadly I fear you aren't wrong on this one.

Yeah, except he has not shown very good TvT lately, but if he can get back his 2013 TvT level, Taeja will crush INnoVation tank/hellbat strats... (I'm no hipster btw...)
