i wonder if MC, hyun, yoda or first will play

hyun is currently 9th in the a-series so he is the most likely option

Bracket is online: http://www.esl.eu/de/pro-series/winter_2014/sc2/cup1/rankings/

Hyun is making his EPS debut, unfortunately he faces GoOdy in the first round (unfortunately for me as a GoOdy-fan, that is). Another interesting thing is, that both Ai-koreans are missing today.

I don't know what all the bureaucracy (Postident and ESL player card) and multiple tiers (A-series) of competition are for. They are remnants of a different time of a different EPS

Hyun did an is in the #1 Cup. When plays 2-3 more A-Series games, he will be in all cups and qualli for the playoffs.
Because Golden and Patience do not participe in this cup, Hyun can play despite being #9 in the A-Seires.

Come to think of it, I do understand why Golden doesn't want to participate (), but why no Patience?

I do believe Patience is going back to Korea this weekend.

It appears someone input the time incorrectly for today's cup.

Showtime and GungFuBanda are already in the top 4, respectively waiting for the winners of Lambo/Hasuobs and Goody/Hyun (where Goody is up 1-0 :O)

I wonder if Heromarine was smart enough to throw that last final, or he just straight up lost it.

Marine plays every TvP straight up into 2CC,1 Ebay, 5 Racks, 2 Reactor Starport SCW Pull. If Zeth has watched some recent games of Marine, he knew what do and did it: No Forges, Phoenix-Colo and then wait for Boyz.
Mention: If you want to be in the top8, play at least 3 cups ( or win straight up 2 ).

Why does the bracket say that all the players are German? HyuN is our Korean HyuN right?

Esl Flags do not stand for citizenship, but for residency. While Hyun is korean citizen, he lives in Duesseldorf, Germany. Like Patience and Golden last Season, who live in Duisburg, Germany, Hyun has a German flag.
If the mYi Koreans would play in the EPS, they would have the Flag of Swizerland.

Hyun was replaced with Goody today. The Zerg player wouldn't have been able to play in the offline finals if he qualified and therefore got replaced for the groupstage already. #9 and #10 of the season ranking (First and Yoda) were not available either and Goody was the next in line.

If you are wondering: Since the groups were drawn and released a week ago already, seedings didn't change at this point to not screw over every single player who prepared for his opponent(s) in the last 7 days.

Hm, it's a bit sad, that all the koreans are suddenly gone, but GOODY! Nice to have him back, I feel, that he got really screwed over by bracket luck (or rather the lack of it) during the season.

WCS Changes change it all. EPS has had 2 very very strong seasons 2014 with two german winners while koreans were attending. Now the competition lowers again and the koreans flee back to homeland.

Groupstage just concluded. Showtime, Gungfubanda, Marine and Socke going to Cologne for the finals.

I just checked: It'll be the 8th SC2 EPS finals for Socke, 4th for Marine and Showtime. And the very first for Gungfubanda. That's going to be interesting

Isn't appollo a bit exaggerating with saying Showtime outclassing Socke in every aspect of the game?

He scouted the proxy and knew how to take the game from there.

I loved to have the Koreans in EPS though - you could see the difference between people like GoOdy and ShoWTimE. I have lost all respect for GoOdy I had before, because he just kept on whining and whining about the Koreans, while ShoWTimE was up to the challenge, training hard to compete.
That revealed a lot about the "old boys" mindset.

1-1 now, this could be an exciting series. I would give to edge to Gunfu, but you never know how mutch HeroMarine really practised.

Yeah somehow they surpass themselves in EPS, I guess there is still a lot of pride on the line for that title, they even defended it against Golden and Patience. The offline finals are always awesome.

meh... I used it like 2-3 times on the king sejong game to get observer/high templar that are spread out into the fight, mostly because some of my camera hotkeys were bugging on the esl pcs which made it quite difficult to play lategame properly. not going to say it is a good habit to have, but even some of the top korean protoss players use it in pvt for spread out ht's/observer.

F2 key is completly fine if used correctly.
I myself overuse it, which is sometimes annoying cuz i have to reposition everything, leading to warpprisms that are meant to be harassing being over my army, and zealots that are supposed to wall my natural going on adventure.
as long as this doesnt happen, F2 is a very nice tool - some terrans should consider using it (sad to see afk units when defending protoss allins)

Gratz Showtime, glad that the young players are doing so well now that the old guard is stepping down. Going to be exciting to see them in WCS 2015.
