Best day of the GSL this year. Flash advances to the RO16 in first place 4-0, accepts and destroys the ice bucket challenge.
That was some quality entertainment!

stop jumping down my throat because i think the ice-bucket challenge is stupid, which it is. people don't genuinely care about ALS, it's just a dumb way to get attention. ALS is an excuse to draw attention to themselves. it's not really about the disease, it's about throwing water around.

cancer? aids? world famine? it's stupid to cherry pick a single disease out of all the world's problems.

feel free to disagree, I just see people throwing water around.

This is completely ridiculous. If you are ignorant enough to only see "water throwing around" it is your problem.
Any responsible human being will check out what it is about after seeing it, THAT is the whole reason they are doing it in the first place.
Ofc there are some exceptions who do it for the publicity, but even then, as long as it is clear WHY they do it, i don't see a problem.

Icebucket didn't go viral because of ALS, it went viral because people think it's fun to see famous people have water dumped on them. The awareness raised about ALS is a side-effect of something silly. Sure it's nice that money is raised to do research however it's not being raised because people think ALS is a problem, it's because people think throwing water around is funny. Without the throwing of water, people wouldn't give a shit about ALS. Doesn't that strike you as somewhat tasteless?

I refuse to continue this pointless discussion either; I'm free however to express my disappointment that the surprise that Tastosis were talking about was the silly ice bucket challenge (which I will continue to disdain) instead of something that was important to Starcraft (especially since a big shot from Blizzard was there).

You might by cynical but you're also probably right. However, here's the point: albeit stupid this actually propagates the message and raises real money.

Yeah, you're a moron. Feel free to disagree but I just see a moron. Whatever their reason is (PR, joking around or whatever) and as long as they are not doing anything harmful, it is still beneficial as money is still being raised for research.

I don't really get the point of condemning people for donating to a good cause for what you think are silly reasons. Who cares about their reasons are so long as a good cause is achieved? A similar example is how as a non-religious person, I really do not care whether people are donating money to charity because they think they can go to heaven, or because they think it's a moral obligation to do so. I'm just happy they donated.

And now they do, and that's the point of this thing. Spreading awareness. So fucking what if it's just a side effect, it's doing something useful for once.

But fuck all those people.

You have done it Flash!! Damn what a day. It is time that we should all agree that Flash has finally figured out this game. Now its Fanta's turn, hopefully he wont retire soon.

If Fantasy made a comeback with Flash still on top of his game that would be epic. tho Flash may be playing extremely good right now I do wonder if he can keep it up. He has been around a long time.

don't know why a few of the same people like to consistently bash Flash and lessen the hype but it is entertaining and funny to read nonetheless lol.

It just means that it's just as likely for things to go viral that have side effects of endorsing terrible behavior since that's not what people actually care about, and that's exactly what happens.

Sad that Avenge didn't get through but he really shocked me with how well he played! It's also amazing to see God get past the Ro32 of Code S!

Also kinda insane to see people complaining about the ice bucket challenge when Mike and Flash both said that it's for a good cause, take the sticks out of your asses people.

the problem with flash, is he is very inconsistant, one day he is an absolute monster, the next day he loses to miniraser (no offense to miniraser)

arent all players inconsistent when the best in the world only have a ~60% overall winrate? i feel like this is said about every fan favorite, jaedong, flash, etc. "he's so inconsistent and makes stupid mistakes" well yeah all players have those games

I'm having a hard time remember when he's looked so good in sc2 though. The last few weeks he's been playing like he has map-hacks. That game v Parting in the finals was near perfect. The run through IEM qualifiers looked so impressive. Finally today's 4-0. When he left the reaper at home after the cheesing in game one... that gave me a semi.
why?

What's with the VOD quality on twitch? I just subscribed for the first time in a long time, and even on Best quality it's extremely low quality with lots of compression artifacts the moment any motion happens. It's a little odd to me when the GSL stream is noticeably worse quality than that of a personal streamer like Protech.
