After little more than an year since its first edition, Vasacast Invitational is back in a whole new fashion and with a single goal:
to double the fun!
32 among the best Starcraft 2 players worldwide will fight against each other in this epic online battle on March 22 and 23 2014. 27 players will be invited, while 2 more will qualify via an Italian Open Cup, and three more via a South American Open Cup.
Our hope is that to set a new standard for the creation of “made in Italy” eSport events, and following you will find all the necessary details regarding this Vasacast Invitational edition.
South American Open Qualifiers by VIU StudioTwo qualifiers will be played on March 10th and 12th,open to a maximum of 64 players each. The first four from each qualifier will then battle on the final day, Sunday, Mar 16 9:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00), where three slots for the main tournament will be assigned.
Main Tournament
Day 1: Ro32/Ro16 Saturday, Mar 22 1:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
Day 2: Ro8/Finals Sunday, Mar 23 2:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00)
This second edition will feature a prize pool almost doubled in size: 5,000$ who will be divided as follows

I usually watch WCS in VasaCast stream. AND ITS AWESOME. I don't understand alot, only english buildings/units/spells names and random english words here and there.

A part from the fact that there are still names to be announced, but there's already plenty of top tier players: Scarlett, Jjajki, Stardust, Mana, Kas, Nerchio... that's far from a easy road to victory

That's a pretty sick replacement. I think Harstem has a much better chance of doing well in the tournament, as well. ^^
The event is surprisingly stacked now that I take a better look at it, it should make for some great games, even as early as the Ro16. Although it's a little to sad to see in the first round some matches that are sure to be almost walkovers and at the same time Kane vs MaNa and MajOr vs Oz. :s
But I guess it's great that lesser known pros from less represented countries get a shot at it, so props for that! ^^
