Unfortunately this is exactly what is actually happening, people (even players) cry balance but a nice chunk of that is because they don't know who these players are.

I think most people aren't treating them like unworthy garbage.

I thought so aswell, a lot of people were quite happy Marinelord/Lambo etc made it this far.. feeling sad that for example Marinelord lost doesnt mean we hate his opponent..

Yeah I mean I'm sad some of their accomplishments are being belittled because they're protoss, but I don't think that's a majority.

Well based on how we treated the so-called "patchzergs", you're wrong.

I still think it's one of the biggest travesties of 2012.

More about #protossed but KTMarineLorD fits him well too.

I guess that would explain why he didnt lol. Guess its either bad decision making or a misclick. Maybe he didnt know about the Vipers

it's not a protoss thing or a wcs eu thing, it's a sc2 thing. sc2 fans want to watch infinite amounts of content (qualifiers, minor events, etc.) but they expect every player in all of them to be wcs champion level. 90% of the people watching will never make master league, but they'll still watch a low master game and call it "wood league". i wasn't singling out anyone in this thread

also i didn't say anything about a majority, but toxic attitudes tend to be louder than reasonable ones

What it really is is a fanboy thing.
People are watching for names they are familiar with not the game itself.
You could throw in a top tier player on a smurf in here and he would be shat on all the way to the finals.

Patchzerg was to a minor extend justified, but in my view there is no reason to start a patchtoss thing. #protossed is more of a joke for me because of how suddenly they can turn fights arround . I dont think the Protoss players today qualified because they played Protoss but rather because they played good.
Some people just cannot win vs a certain race, see Innovations TvT, MMAs PvT. Then they work hard on that matchup and become better..

Scarlett and Stephano were patchzergs according to TL 2012-2013. It seems somewhat comical in retrospect.

Patchzerg was to a minor extend justified

It was perfectly justified.
Accomplishments of many players were owed purely to Blizzards refusal to do their job and balancing the game.

Well every Zerg that ever won a series was called a patch-zerg. People who went muta/ling/bane were patch-zergs. Aggressive ling players were patch-zergs.
yes there were some people who just turtle on 3 bases, get BL/Infestor and win. But that hasnt been done by everone

And no - I don't mean Stephano/Scarlett/Nerchio.
