I find "Group of Death" to be a bit of a meaningless notion when for each group 2 players are clearly superior and are supposed to get out. It gets interesting when 3 monstrous players are inside the same group :D

Pretty weird this actually:

I don't understand. What does this mean ?

Innovation vs. Life Welmu vs. Wulfen

so is this happening on time or?

Does anyone know what team (if any) Wulfen is on?

Oh ok. But how are the groups made/picked usually ?

Usually you have some kind of seeding, group 1st vs. 2nd (if there was a group stage before), highest seed vs. lowest seed. Here its highest seed vs. highest seed.

Life vs Wulfen INnoVation vs Welmu
Or Life vs Welmu etc. You get the idea.

Meh, I'm just happy I get to watch Life smash Innovation as quickly as possible

Normally you rank the players from place 1-4. from player 1 withthe highest seed to player 4 with the lowest seed. Player 1 against player 4 Player 2 against player 3
Apparently at northcon it is
Player 1 vs player 2 Player 3 vs player 4
I guess the rationale behind this is to give foreigners a better chance to advance because with the traditional way they probably have to beat 2 korean players to advance and with this you could get lucky and advance with winning only once against a korean.

If only there was a system, where this would´nt concern us, because everyone plays everyone anyway...
