I'm really digging the way the player cams are setup in this layout, with all the zooms and overlays and all

Idra - Doing a good job casting. Kudos, I hope you've found something you can really enjoy and grow in. So far I have to say you've been great. Although I'm leery of potential Zerg bias issues, I think that's more likely to show up from Khaldor. Keep up the good work.

Taeja looks like he's a little confused. But Harstem is playing pretty well - trixsy Harstem is trixsy.

The ads are killing me. I want to upgrade, and they're making me want to go with a RoG motherboard despite my being highly unlikely to overclock. And that RAIDR card. ARGH! :shakes fist at ASUS:

Is there any really "neutral" caster? I think almost everyone has some kind of bias toward the race he has been playing the most. I wouldn't even say that's a bad thing, a sports commentator has his favourites as well. IdrA will probably never be able to hide that he doesn't like Protoss, but I don't think he has to as long as he analyses the game as good as he does right now.

He doesn't even seem that biased right now. Though maybe that's because I watch his stream!

I don't watch his stream, and I'm really unimpressed with angry Idra in general - when he plays well, he's pretty damn good. When he's off, it can go from okay to wtf pretty fast. But as a caster? He's been excellent as I'm watching today. He's being pretty engaging and knowledgeable, although my only suggestion for him is for when he's on camera. His "face time" with the camera shows his focused practices and past as a player - total stone faced killer. It's okay to be a little more expressive.

+ Show Spoiler +
Alternately, he could possibly teach Machine to lip sync. Also, ASUS RoG, stop with your ultra effective techporn advertising!! I'm already seriously considering an effing $500 motherboard. The only upside to it is it appears to be damn future proof as long as processor sockets don't go wibbly again.
Yes, I email sponsors... to thank them. Don't post drunk, kids. My king, what has become of you?

Nah he said he's concentrating on Doto since it needs help as a new game. To be honest I think between BTS and The GD studio Dota 2 has possibly the best set of casters going for an e-sport.

Who are BTS? I thought Tobi Wan was considered the top caster in Dota 2?

Beyond the summit is a studio that does the majority of the broadcasting of Asian tournaments for the western viewers. Tobi Wan has kind of fallen out of favour of the community for various reasons.

Sorry for going offtopic, but could you catch me up on tobi wan? I dont follow the dota2 scene too closely and would appreaciate it.

Anyways there are so many good dota 2 casters around at the moment, i like every one of the atm.

On topic. Teaja vs San will be epic.

He's received heavy flak for never improving his game knowledge and has made quite a few egotistical/idiotic remarks which got the pitchforks a raising (One that really came to mind was a comment about casters using reddit/twitter because their websites suck, he rescinded the comments but the pitchforks they were a raisin)

Thank you. I think as long as he had a monopoly people did not raise the pitchforks so fast. Anyways, he is still a greate caster with a knowlegdeable analytical caster.

I haven't been too involved in the Dota community recently but I remember the Dota subreddit gave him a lot of praise on his birthday last month and he's working towards becoming a more analytic caster so I think the anti-Tobi brigade has died down quite a bit.

Well. When I started getting into dota, mostly with dota2, tobi was the go-to guy for me. I think he is a great caster when getting into the scene. As my knowledge of the game increased I kinda watched less and less, since his knowledge is pretty limited and his casting seems somewhat "generic" as it is mostly consisting of him pointing out where x and y are moving, and what item x and y are picking up.
BTS feels more complete in that regard as they are way better analytical and their play by play are not equal, but not bad either. I feel that better game knowledge >>>> play by play, as I usually are able to see the stuff anyway and would rather listen to HOW and WHY the players are doing stuff etc.
Ayesee for example has a way smoother voice, and seems more likeable. So it seems like his place are kinda "shrinking?" as he has been quite arrogant and said some stupid things at time.
this is PURELY a personal remark, but Tobi has also always seemed like he was quite arrogant/unlikeable as a person (I can't know, but it just seems like it) and it makes it hard to watch.

edit: for better format (hopefully)

He was greate in other events before, i think it just takes time to get used to cast with Khaldor. I like to see that the longer sc2 lives, the more cast combos we get. Would love to hear Idra and Artosis, or Idra and Tasteless.

It's just that, generally, the more experienced a caster is, the better he will be at achieving a minimum of chemistry with any other caster.

It could just be that it's the end of a long day, but it doesn't seem like he's enjoying casting. He could barely stop scowling while on camera and he didn't look happy just before they cut, when he thought he was off camera. I guess he's tired.

I'd say he's tired, it's the end of the day and these matches are dragging on longer than they should, I can't really blame him when you also account for the jet lag.

Does this mean there are 199/200 players in GM or 200/201?

Also its hard to get hyped for a game of Taeja against a medium level European. He sugarcoats his commentary, but his face speaks the truth.

False. SC 2 still has the best casters by a mile.

It's not even close- SC2 by "miles and miles" (to quote Apollo).

Tobiwan is enjoyable though.
