Hopefully he'll just need more time to figure out a new strat that suits him the best. He's always been a tempo-based, maneuver type of player, so this drop/mine push style might not be as suitable for him as the old biotank style. You must be thinking of someone else, Polt was never a great TvZ player in Wings, it was easily his worst matchup. If anything he's looking stronger since HotS came out.

"Worst matchup" or not, Polt vs Violet (Lone Star, perhaps?) was one of the greatest comebacks that I've ever seen. That alone makes him alright in my book.

I dont know why I still care but SC2 is killing itself like this. Besides a few hardcore fans on TL everyone is bored to death by 2 years of Koreans domination, gratz.

You must be thinking of someone else, Polt was never a great TvZ player in Wings, it was easily his worst matchup. If anything he's looking stronger since HotS came out. I think it was arguably better than his TvT (except during the Super Tournament). He demolished Lucky's mass broodlord at Assembly when the strat just came out, and his final series that tournament vs Stephano was great as well. When DRG and Violet were all the rage, he traded games with them quite evenly at MLG and GSL. Even when the zergs dominated IPL5, he and Bomber were the last 2 terrans standing. Only Life seemed out of his league, but so was every Terran. Since HotS came out, he's played a close series vs Life, but the game was still relatively unexplored. The only other top zerg he's beaten is HyuN, and HyuN messed up in both series. And the thing is, too often I see him get bogged down outside the zerg's base or take huge damage at home simply because his widow mines didn't cut it. Don't know why but I have the impression that Polt's biotank was strategically more mobile than his biomine, it seems he could push faster into zerg territory and change the attack vector more easily with tanks than mines.
