The "2nd tier Kespa players" (Dear is a key player on STX's line-up, by the way) all eliminated players like Flash, Bogus, SK and Rain by, you know, beating them.
Flash didnt participate.
Yep. Why didn't he? All other top Kespa talent did. Would have been interesting to see him at this MLG...
Same case as to why sOs didnt participate either. Asian Indoor games. He's playing for the gold medal on Thursday or Friday against sOs
If there was ever a joke tournament, that was it.
Lol yeah kinda funny they prioritized that over MLG... oh well.
If I had to choose between a chance to lose to polt/hyun/stats/dear etc or walking over random Asians and get paid for it I'd happily take the later.

It's a huge deal in Korea for different reasons entirely

i am pretty sure bogus flash and rain had latency, no way they would lose to such mediocre players :D:D
Youre absolutely right. Flash didnt participate at all. Rain and Bogus lost cleanly though.

All of them ending up in top 12 is actually great result, because when a group is so underrepresented it's very easy to just end up with a couple of early eliminations. Like, it never happens that great players go out in early rounds? Sure it does. And the smaller the group you look at, the more possible it becomes that none of them finishes at the very top.
I feel like this is a poor thing to say. First it's "Kespa domination" and when it doesn't happen, it's "there were only 3". Of course all 3 placing top 12 is a really fucking great result - it's very impressive, no question, but when talking about the tournament before it began, there was a lot of "Kespa will roll through this" and when put in that light, none of them reaching the finals is a disappointment.
Well, Dear could still take it.
But yeah the problem is that when Kespa fanboys use extremely strong rhetoric about how good Kespa players are, it opens then up to criticism literally whenever Kespa players don't dominate everything

I think also the winner of the Gold Medal gets military exemption. Pretty good deal if you ask me

Didn't they both lose, though? Thought I heard someone say that.

Whats the prize for 1st anyways?
Nothing. That's why Life dropped out. Also Flash is only in bracket stages because he 'won' the tiebreaker because he had more supply at gg.

Oh wow, that's interesting. Sounds a lot more understandable now.

Nah, Dear has no chance against the power of SKÅNE
But yeah, that's the only issue I have with self-proclaimed "Kespa fans" - it's always "Kespa this, kespa that", and when they don't win it's always "but they don't care" or some variation of "not enough kespa but they actually dominated if you take XYZ into account". Without the excuses, I'd have no issue ^^

It turns out tiebreaker games were played. someone posted the battle reports that were in some taiwanese article.

I haven't read this pre-event banter, but it really shouldn't have made sense to expect domination from the just 3 kespa representatives (who aren't even the most impressive ones to choose anyway). It's a matter of numbers often times.
