Though I remember ToD won against him, but I can't recall which tournament it was. Yesterday I heard Demuslim saying that Lyn was the best orc player in WC3. I really thought it was Grubby, but maybe he was just glorified because he was a "foreigner". Well, Grubby was always kinda top tier player. He was always pretty darn strong, regardless of period. You could say that he was at a level that you could measure everyone based off him. Lyn had his peaks and downs, during some of his peaks he was better than Grubby, however. Correct me if I'm wrong, tho, my memory feels blurry at the point. You are right, around 2010(when SC2 was coming out), Lyn was the best Orc player as far as I know. But overall looking at the whole WC3, Grubby never had a bad period, he was always on top(if I recall correctly). Also, there were some other great players, for example, Fly100%, Chinese Orc player.
The funniest thing is, as we are speaking about them, Fly100% and Lyn are playing against each other currently. :D http://gosugamers.net/warcraft/gosubet/144301

You're not really wrong, in fact War3 has had many periods. It has not lived quite as long as Brood War, but it was still enough time to go through different phases, where different players were at the top, sometimes in an uncontested position, sometimes with a few players battling it out.
I would say that players who have been really at the top uncontested for some period of time (at least 3-4 months) in TFT would be :
(I forget probably 1 or 2 from the old days :s) Sweet Zacard Moon (for quite a long period, which is why he is the biggest name) Grubby Lucifer Sky Lyn
Now, many other players have been very good at some point when they had a peak, like ToD, Madfrog, FatC, FoV, Remind, Creolophus, Gostop, but I wouldn't put them on the same level of domination.
Those lists are obviously arguable

So when one person says something you blindly believe it and throw all other logic out the window ? At times Lyn was better but he was also often worse, Grubby and Moon strength was that they were more consistent and kinda always relivent.

Gah, glad SK beat Parting. Parting's pretty good, I've got a few reasons to be irritated with him, chiefly aiding in Flash and Life getting knocked out earlier than I'd like. Also, doing that 3 base blink stalker build that Seed used to do (similar anyway). That build is my Zerg nightmare.

But solid and unpredictability kind of contradict each other (not 100% but in some ways). There are some unpredictable builds that just outright lose to hard counters even if you execute them solidly.
