Ok, not as sloppy by Apoc but still very mediocre by top pro standards.

Many of them don't seem to have put any special preparation or put together any special builds for it. This is freaking WCS america! Why didn't you at least come out with your best to defend the home turf? Idk, I expected more. Its not player bashing as much as it is the fact that most of us have become used to the extremely high level play of GSL. The players their dont make completely idiotic moves. I mean there are so many extremely noticeble mistakes by both Fenix and Minigun that it makes me cringe. I wish they could put up a less disappointing display of their skill but all I see is them getting smashed completely in WCS NA. Hopefully Moonglade, Huk, and Scarlett put up a good show.

On the plus side, it also helps give Korean progamers who don't get many opportunities otherwise a chance for results, money and fame.

Get matched up against superior opponents, and while many will fall and never get back up, maybe some can rise up to the occasion. The NA scene (and part of the EU scene) has been way too stale, if anything WCS will make playing SC2 profesionally viable for people that were never able to break into the scene before. It's going to mean that a lot of the 'popular' faces in SC2 are going to wash out and take the destiny route, but that's great for the game overall. WCS is going to develop the scene tremendously, having to beat code B koreans creates an excellent barrier to entry. Two seasons from now we'll have NA/EU talent breaking into the scene.

I feel like this would be much more the case if like in EU it was a handful of Koreans instead of the wall it currently is.
