Whatever.

About 99% of EU/US players apply this defeatist mentality to their predictions. Don't say it's realistic either. There's already been many upsets in the group stage and there's probably a few still left. If you want my guess, I'd say atleast one of Gumiho, Leenock and CoCa bust out in the first round, and one of Hyun and JD.

I'm actually going to say a foreigner wins this event, bo3 until the finals is the perfect chance for upsets. stockholm must be won by a white dude to carry on the legacy of tfunk

With the brackets set up the way they are, we're guaranteed at least one foreigner in the semis right?

Also, just a small thing that's been bugging me, but "quarterfinals" is spelled incorrectly on the bottom of the Liquipedia page for this tournament.

really? I think the only way that could be better is if Jaedong beat Verdi, but I'd love to see a Leenock vs Gumiho finals

I'm glad Naniwa ended up losing to Hyun so he came second in his group, if Naniwa would've won looks like he would've had to face Sase in ro16 instead of possibly the finals :D

It's kind of a worst case scenario for foreigners, but it's certainly not unrealistic. My money would be on a 4/4 split between foreigners and Koreans in ro8.

Hmm - really disappointed with the Bo3 playoffs (and Bo5 final). Should be Bo5 bracket with a Bo7 final. :/

What do you think about coin flips? ._.

I can see SaSe beating HyuN; I can see Stephano taking out CoCa; HuK has a slim chance against Gumiho. The rest however I'd say are big dogs.

Because if foreigners like TLO and Stephano play really well, it'd be much more interesting to see them advance and play in the later rounds. I like gumiho and leenock, but that finals would be horrendous. We have the gSL to watch for those matches. it'd be such a let-down and boner kill for these guys to come all this way just to lose in the ro16.

edit: and yeah, these gaping holes in tournament formats are getting quite old. It's 2013 and we still have a bo3 bracket and coin flips. Can't get much more retarded. At least we have a good ro16 player pool, or it would be a total laughable disaster.

I disagree, I wanna see the koreans lose 0 games to foreigners, but that's just me haha

Why should the fact that it's 2013 change those things? Has time slowed down? They have a lot of games to run and a limited amount of time to run them in. They can't do every game bo37 and they can't do endless tiebreakers.

Seriously, "laughable disaster"? Wow.
