Where are the downsides to that?. Well there's a few things. First, as far as I understand the matches like Huk V Leenock still help with the seeding into the next round, so though it's not huge, it's still preferable to be in a group with two second place finishers and a first than the other way around (unless I'm wrong about the seeding) Also, it means the players still need to play everyone in the group, so they have to show off strategies and MU builds they might not need to in the GSL-style, so it gives all players in the tournament more information. It also gives all the players who are competing more games - after all these tournaments are as much about giving the players a nice experience as it is for the fans. As for the negative of the tiebreakers, as we've seen they are relatively rare (31 of 32 went through no problem), and with the number of streams there's usually some other games to watch - and in addition they do cap it at 2 tiebreakers, which is a nice compromise - it theoretically should allow the more skilled players to advance. | ||
