For players and spectators alike raffles, contests, and social activities will be ongoing throughout our tournament, so everyone attending can enjoy their time in-game and out!

StarCraft II Main Tournament

The main tournament will consist of a double elimination 64-player 1v1 bracket. Each round will be a Bo3.

StarCaft II 2v2 Tournament
Team games have been called easy and cheesy by other people, but here at UC Davis, we know that there is more than just which side can rush a double 6-pool. Home to the greatest 2v2 team to have ever existed, we will continue their legacy into HotS with a dedicated 2v2 tournament! This will run the whole day, so note that you will be unable to play in the 1v1 if you sign up for the 2v2.

Monobattle/FFA
There will be Monobattles and FFAs throughout the day for those that just want to have fun or have been knocked out of the main tournament. Come meet other StarCraft players in these wild and exctiing matches!

StarCraft Trivia
Know the exact damage that a Siege Tank can do a Zealot? Or even better, know what the name of the Siege Tank's attack is called? How about your mastery of the StarCraft Lore? How many Protoss generals can you name? If you can answer any of these questions, then the StarCraft II Trivia will be right up your alley.

Singleplayer Challenge
You've played the campaign, defeated the game on Brutal and have every achievement. Now race against others to find out who the champion of singleplayer is!

[1v1] Consolation Tournament - Coaching Sessions
[2v2] 2v2 Tournament - Gear + Prize Money

Logistics

There will be plenty of room for spectating and relaxing with professional casting from Ferguson "AlphaFerg" Mitchell and Chris "Nebulous" Bird.

This is a Bring Your Own Computer (B.Y.O.C.) event! If you plan on participating in any of the tournaments please arrange to transport yourself plus one StarCraft II capable computer, laptop or desktop, to the Arc Ballroom before the tournament begins.

Computer setup and practice games will start at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Arrive on time to secure a good spot. The tournaments will run until their conclusion, estimated for early evening. Free play will resume after that.

Campus parking is free on the weekends in the South Entry parking structure and lots 1 and 2. [Parking Map]

Here are some other LAN tournament basics you shouldn't forget:
  • Ethernet cable, the longer the better.
  • Power strip with enough outlets for your computer plus one.
  • Headphones. Speakers are not allowed.
  • Extension cord is a plus, circuit breaker outages are a pain.
  • Routers and switches, if you have, are a plus to ensure you get connected.
  • Do not bring alcohol, of any variety.

Unfortunately, in order to have enough time to run both the 1v1 and 2v2 tournaments, participants in either will have to sign up for only one.

There is just always so much time between matches, I'm sure it wouldn't significantly delay either tournament to run them parallel, but w/e..
Never Forget.

RJZ, your games at the last Davis LAN were among the most entertaining I have ever seen; I still think back on them often. I can't wait to see how you use the Heart of the Swarm changes to your advantage!

See you there!

Nearly 200 people attended the last Davis LAN. I hear this one is a little smaller with a Heart of the Swarm focus, but should be just as action packed.
