I'm worried as well. Lure seems to be good at PvZ (however he beat Jaedong and Effort and I think both have their fair share of ZvP struggles) and DRG is top 16 on ladder for HotS so I don't know how much WoL he's playing and he's lost in the Ro24 the past two seasons (roro and noblesse.) I still think he's the heavy favorite though.
Hey Shellshock1122 or anyone else who wants to, wanna test out my twitter script for real? Last night I ran it on Dodgin's posts after the GSTL match (I code pretty slowly while watching starcraft lol...) and it did work although it was a bit useless (plus I may have creeped out Dodgin hehe).
Basically the idea is that my script watches this thread for new posts by a specified author and tweets them. It's pretty ugly so I'm not publishing the code yet but I made one slight addition that removes quotes from the post, which should make things readable at least. I want to split long posts across multiple tweets but I'll do that later. I made it because sometimes when I'm not at my computer I want to keep up with LR threads but it's really inconvenient to do so generally, and usually when I'm on the go I want to read dense snippets of game information like what Shellshock1122 provides, and not balance whines .

I think Rain v. Flash is going to be stomp in Rain's favor. Flash lost to Flying and bong recently and they aren't close to Rain's level and Rain looked damn good against Keen. It's too bad Rain is my all-time least favorite player though for making DRG cry

The GOM stream usually comes up first and is also slightly behind the Twitch TV one because of the buffering in the beginning. So you get the benefit of delay as well

Yeah, that's probably what I'll end up doing. The only thing is right now I have no idea how many posts he might make in one night and if it's too many the bot might get rate limited, though I'm not sure what the limits are. It might just be 350 requests per hour with no limit on what they are but last night when I was just playing around I got cut off way before I had made that many tweets so I'm not sure. I may have just been tweeting too fast lol.

Tweets: 1,000 per day. The daily update limit is further broken down into smaller limits for semi-hourly intervals. Retweets are counted as Tweets.

Not really, they mostly are just common sense, I did my Liquibets and voted in the polls, then looked at the aligulac predictions and they all came out exactly the same.

Pretty much. I consider "Code S" to be those who are in the RO32 at the beginning of the season with emphasis on those who make it to the RO16 / make it out of the RO48

I think HotS PvP is pretty random these days but it's still way too early to tell what matchups will look like as the game developers. Though I feel like ZvP is pretty silly but other than that all the other matchups seem better in HotS.

Byun looked really strong and outplayed most of his opponents, but it was some random people before the pros started coming in so there were only glimpses at them playing. Hard to tell really.
Hopefully Engine streams more, most of the matches are insanely fun. HeavenDom even made an appearance as an observer.

Nope, U&D is usually counts towards the 'next' season. Because it usually takes place after the Code S finals and the finals is the official 'end' of the season. But for this season, U&D is actually before the finals.

Heh. When you are a pro gamer playing games on ladder for 10+ hours a day. I don't think you can get too upset losing to cheese. I think players usually get upset when they know they should have won a game/series but just made a mistake to let their opponent come back. Those losses seem to hurt more.

There were a lot more all in games mostly thanks to the first round of Code A Code S has also had a few 45+ min games including that 1.5 hour game from GuMiho and Losira

This game reminded me of DRG vs Genius GSL S1 final on Entombed where Genius went crazy carrier build. Maybe both MVP protoss tried this build vs their teammate DRG to trick him yet died.

It's a metagame thing. Protoss players are doing greedier and greedier openings, delaying Colossus for earlier thirds. This leaves a window for Zerg to use Hydras. It's very easy to hard counter it the way Parting did against Life and just build 2 base Colossus, and it becomes an auto-loss for the Zerg, like back in 2011.

People saw that Hydras were awful in a couple games and never made them ever again, waving them off as awful for everything except roach/hydra in ZvZ. Weird how much nobody wants to break the meta.

Yeah I think this is the only reason. The HotS hydra buff is probably a coincidence. Colossi still melt hydras just as well in HotS by the way, except now they can run to their deaths faster (I guess it depends on how the engagement happens of course, but on the whole the speed boost doesn't help vs Colossi I think).

I really like this build from DongRaeGu, delaying upgrades and Lair for a big pack of units after 60 drones. I don't like how he overcommited his lings, both at the natural and below natural ramp. Just tech up, delay as much as possible, threaten to counter and get spines to defend while killing his workers with mutas.
After recently playing a few games on Whirlwind myself, I can conclude that this map drives people insane for being so huge on cross spawns. How do these players compose themselves? D:

People saw that Hydras were awful in a couple games and never made them ever again, waving them off as awful for everything except roach/hydra in ZvZ. Weird how much nobody wants to break the meta.
You can't kill the meta. The meta will live on. Hydra timings tried to kill the meta - but they failed, as they were smite to the ground.

DRG had 1-1 on his lings.
It also helps to build spores to zone out the prism to prevent warpins in tight places.

Agreed, and though WCS was "pretty" considering the money, and PartinG did well to get through all stages of it, that and WCG are really not comparable to winning even one GSL, let alone more stacked tournaments in general.

i don't think I can be sad if Gumiho wins a set, but I still have no idea where Byun's fire has gone from 2-3 seasons ago. he was practically the best terran in gsl there out macroing and maneuvering everyone and now he plays like an average korean terran.

I agree, it's kind of sad. The issue with watching that game for me is I find Gumiho and Byun to be two of the most underrated terrans in Korea right now. Sucks that they had to square off, would have voted for both of them!!
