Tournament Information and Registration
Address: 1207 Anderson Avenue, Fort Lee, NJ 07024
Date: Sunday Jan. 13th, 2013
Time: Doors open at @ 12:00pm | Event starts @1:00pm
Prize: $10 of each Entry Fee will go into prize pool. Pay out: 1st = 70%, 2nd = 20%, 3rd = 10%
Casters: @GoSu.Windy & @ErikTheRed
There is free street parking on Sundays. Parking can be found on various nearby side streets. Plateau Road is the closest. Refreshments are available on site as well as other establishments in the area.
Gear (headset, keyboard, and mouse) will be provided by Local Battles but we encourage you to bring your own gear. If you have a large mouse pad, please be aware that you will not have enough for it to lay flat. If you have any drivers you'd like to install (pertaining to your peripherals i.e. Razer Synapse) please let us know.
Rules and Regulations
1. All players competing must pay their entry fee prior to tournament date (save $10) or day of event. No exceptions.
2. Tournament format varies from event to event and is contingent upon the number of entrants. All events feature some type of bracket play. Preliminary games are always Best of 3. Finals will always be a Best of 5.
3. All forms of BM are strictly forbidden. Friendly trash talk and banter is allowed but should be kept to a minimum as to not disturb another players focus.
4. Typing "gg" at any point other than the initial "gl hf gg" period at the beginning of games will mean that you surrender. This is to prevent any offensive "gg" as well as any players that continue to play after typing "gg" in the hopes of causing their opponent to halt normal play.
5. Intentionally delaying a game is strictly forbidden. Players may pause at their convenience but only if they announce they are doing so (sec, pp, ppp, etc.).
6. First map will be picked through vetoes. Each player will take turns vetoing a map until only one remains. After that map pool is open and it is loser's pick.

Update:
Hey guys -- first and foremost, we can't wait to see you all this Sunday. Its been really awesome to meet the local SC2 players in our region over the last 8 months. This is a really fun series we put together and we want to continue them but the economic realities to produce this event is becoming harder to justify as our local customers expect availability to our venue to be open to the public on weekends. Also, due to some staff changes at Playhem it is possible that they may not continue to sponsor this series.
In order to keep this monthly event going we would need to have more community support and restructure the series with additional marketing partners and business sponsors. The most important thing now is to come this Sunday and show us that you want to keep this monthly series alive. We are now charging a $10 venue fee for both player and spectators.

They didn't provide a online ordering to attend, but now if u show up and pay at the desk, you'll get the 10$ saving option at door rather than having to preorder it

I've done a lot of casting and analysis for my team's team wars, both during the Z33kTv ProLeague and during friendly matches. I've only recently started making youtube videos, etc, but I'd definitely be interested in helping cast while I'm not playing (or even potentially instead of playing)

Well this is interesting. I would be interested in going for a local tournament although I'm only a lowly gold right now with fewer than 100 1v1s under my belt (hopefully will be platinum or diamond in 2 months... maybe).
How many people typically attend these events? I think me and another friend (who is much better having made Master League though he hasn't done 1v1s in a while) would be interested in joining.
In addition, how long does a match typically go on for?

This one was a wee bit delayed as there wasn't any no casters, so player casted, but we had bronze - gm's show up. Plus it's more for the experience rather than having the fear you'll get knocked first round.
We had 17 people show up, and more the merrier.
and your average match, it can be quick, or it can be 45 minute battles.

Oh sorry, I meant how long the overall event is usually. But I guess that does depend on the matches on whether people macro up or go for early all-ins

OH, dont worry about your rank, i went with 2 of my freinds. Im only rank 1 gold, though some of that is due to lagg, and im getting a new comp soon, i have a low plat freind, then the last 1 was a low bronze who got sasquatch first round.
