The playoff teams battle for the $9,000. Here is the prize distribution:
Hoseo's new B-team especially salvation and brave have been looking pretty solid in team leagues but in this league they were massacred by jonnyrecco before jjakji had to bail them out. I'm not entirely sure what to make out despite the series of unfortunate events I think salvation, brave and tassadar can stand up to liquid's foreigners but jjakji will have his work cut out to beat hero, taeja and liquid's pet elephant sea while tassadar did tear liquid apart in the GSTL sheth and ret were mia that series yet tassadar did beat taeja and taeja's recent play isn't as dominating as the guy who one man teamed liquid to the finals was so there's the chance for a repeat of liquid's unfortunate GSTL run. Overall hoseo's kind of dispelled their jjakji vs the world image but with the pressure on jjakji I think a B-teamer will have to step it up big time with a struggling jjakji trying to lead his struggling team against the still strong liquid I don't see hoseo bringing down all of liquid's Koreans. Liquid 5-3 Jjakji
Liquid 5-2 Liquid is a solid team that can take on any GSTL worthy team recently (well, really only TaeJa and HerO) and against an ailing NSHS, this should be pretty clean cut and simple; use TaeJa and HerO well enough, and break HoSeo efficiently.

in reality teamliquid 5-2 or something.
Actually I'd kinda like that against any other team, I miss jjakji. I did hard physical labor on top of my boring, non physical labor today, 11 hours total and I only wanted to sleep. I should look into suing IPL
Don't think that the Jjakji all kill is that far fetched, he is that good. Taeja is of course a problem, but he beat Mvp in TvT kinda recently so don't count him out!
I think Salvation could've won that, not getting 3/3 and not using his 2/2 to 1/1 timing window (preferably Mvp style, pulling all his SCVs) was his downfall. He has to do one of the two, can't just fall behind in upgrades like that.
It's kinda funny how Jjakji has played 2 of the best TvP games I've seen, losing both of them (vs Parting on Antiga and vs Seed on Cloud Kingdom). Hope this will be a good one as well!
Salvation couldn't use the losing of his army near hero's 4th base. I think that was the turning point in the match. Salvation almost needed to do damage after the destruction of his own 4th. With equal trade, hero had the upper hand.
I like the caster duo btw. I don't know the one on the right (sorry, don't know the name during writing this), but he's doing a good job!
Seems that everyone is using Hellions in TvP now that Polt made them popular (I know jjakji used similar M/H builds in TvP, but I'm seeing more Hellions in TvP in general).

I'd argue it was byun who made TvP hellions more popular than polt

Yes way back before he got suspended for a while I remember a ridiculous helion build he did on taldarim. Outright killed a protoss with like 4factory helions.
hero was pretty sure that was a helion drop. pulling probes instead of using them with stalkers, warping in right under the drop. by the time he pulled probes back to help it was already over.

I think MarineKing has used that build as well.
Thing is that it's really forcefields that are strong vs hellions, pure stalkers and the splash damage will make them cost effective. That's why hellions are so strong early game, even vs toss.
In all fairness, Shy is actually pretty good but kind of gets overshadowed by Rain as these are the only 2 stand out KeSPA protoss. So there was no shame in Jjaki getting knocked out of the first round of Code A by Shy.

Dear god, I hope, that if NSHoSeo ever should go down, Jjakji doesn't go down with them.
But the captain of the ship must always go down with the ship.
jjakji's macro is astounding, he manages to top Zenio in supply consistently. Jjakji is still mechanically strong, just other problems hold him back from making it to Code S.

The captain (Sage) already jumped ship. :D
Yes, it was decent but his opponent was only Zenio. I'd love to see him against some better Zergs.

Hopefully, TaeJa can beat jjakji now or else things will not look good for Liquid to get back to Premier Division.
Yes, EG MC was a last minute reschedule so I was thinking about that, and then this snuck up. I apologize, it's a big error by me. Don't read anything into it, it's just me sucking at life.

It's alright. Let's cross our fingers for the guys now.
Very good attempt at building a concave, stutter-stepping the marines forward and around TaeJa's blob. Too bad he just didn't have the numbers to back his clickity-clack micro.

Cats said yesterday it had no bearing on the contest.
gj taeja. has to win at least one more game though for TL to stand a chance - once taeja is taken out, they are out of koreans... (excluding sea who obviously lags behind and needs more time to catch up.)
NSH is in a really similar position to TSL a year ago. Lost a lot of their good players, still have a really good Terran who have a championship victory but can't really carry the team by himself, and everything else is in reconstruction.
The only difference is that NSH don't have Coach Lee

now hoseo should start to bring out their best remaining players imho.
Mmh, I wonder who will they choose among the likes of Sculp, Sculp, and Sculp. Albeit they could send Sculp for a snipe.
(Hint: NSH has only one player left in their roster. )
Personally I'd have gone for sculp but that's my personal opinion.
Tsk, Sculp is overrated. On the other hand, Sculp carried his weight in teamleagues and did quite well on qualifiers. The right choice is definitely Sculp.

The answer is clear, send jjakji to go start a fight with nerchio make big foreign money.

There's a fundamental flaw in your plan, that implies you can beat hyun in fight club.

Dude, do you even follow the Korean scene? Sculp's TvT is atrocious. I agree with Fusilero; Sculp is definitely the right guy to send out if it comes down to that.

Has Jjakiji been on fight club? Would be fun to see how he would do.

He beat Nerchio 5-4 long time ago, and lost to HerO 5-3.

HuyN already beat aLive, Gumiho and BuyN. At this point I don't think any terran should be concidered beside MVP. x)

Not really. The casting was pretty fun to listen to when it was HuyN vs ByuN tho.

I think this style of Bio-Mech works really well against Mech because it takes the strengths of both compositions and ultimately, counters Mech hard. I remember Polt did really well against GuMiho's Mech play because Bio-Mech shut down any Hellion run-bys and gave some zoning and damage.
I remember a game, i think it was Bomber vs theognis, where Bomber assembled a really sick Thor-Tank-marauder-viking ball and destroyed theognis pure mech style in straight up engagements.

agreed, I feel like Sculp could have done even more with drops to abuse the huge size of the map, good luck trying to defend 4-5 bases with Mech on that map against a bio player.

Polt is Polt. He looks at any given composition, shrugs, and makes marauders. It just works.

Not sure whether the Liquid Zergs can take out Sculp, neither Ret and Sheth have been too strong lately, especially against Koreans, even if they are Code B.
How could I forget TLO, actually, TLO has a good chance.

Sculp is a fantastic TvZ player he should handle the zergs I think it's sea to be careful about he is an elephant after all.
Even the most fantastic TvZ player can die to random all-ins. Sea could be hard, but on paper beating Taeja should have been way harder than beating any of the players left.
I think Sculp lost that by not expanding in time, really cant stay on one and a half mining base against someone who is on 3. O well Liquid staying in premier is good
