Your missing Dignitas Pureball, who won i40 :O
Other then that, epic news! I've signed up for all the tournaments though I doubt I'll be able to win :D Maybe if I practice practice I can make top 8 at i47! Will be a great event as always either way
|
Really excited to hopefully have the whole team together at one event for i47, I-series SC2 events are definitely going in the right direction!
|
Insomnia is about to go boss-mode. This event is a small part of the future plans for SC2, of which I cannot reveal anything yet. Please hand me £100 bribes for more information at Insomnia47

This a huge push by a lot of parties to make something great in the UK. I'm certainly planning for huge steps above from IPL UK.
|
Can I ask why the ticket prices for this event are so much more expensive than for example Dreamhack? There's about 10 people at the university that would be interested in coming down, both players and spectators, but it's just too damn expensive

Actually the prices are very close to the main Dreamhack events, Same price for BYOC and cheaper for a weekend spectator pass which also includes access to camping area for cheap accommodation. The current down fall of the event is Turn up and play and that's something I hope can be improved for Starcraft at least. Large events in the UK are always costly cause venues are hard to come by but remember Multiplay offer a great deal if you buy tickets during early bird which make the tickets £72 each and sometimes cheaper.

ah right, I only looked at DH Bucharest, which is a lot cheaper, cheers
|
DH Bucharest isn't comparable to iSeries because it's a TUP tournament event, whereas iSeries is a 5 day BYOC event. Players for Bucharest don't have to incur the extra costs of power/network for such a long duration, and also only go to play the tournament itself, whereas at iSeries you can do a lot more.
It's certainly comparable to DH Summer/Winter though, which costs 929 SEK, which is ~ £87.
Either way, this event is gonna rock!
|
well theres a lot of top players signed up i hope there not just doing it for the prize and will come to i47 otherwise that would be just stupid

They won't receive the money until they attend the finals!

Yes but it's fairly certain alot of the Koreans won't attend the finals with only £150 stipend, how will that work since they will be knocking out potential players

This is a pretty good point. Seems pretty unfair on those players knocked out by the koreans

Why not do it during the summer event? The dates for the end of year LAN always suck because its not on a holiday which will just make the viewership and attended go down.
|
Do you guys need a Chinese caster? I can guarantee you a larger viewership if you do...

new contract, we don't receive any more prize money but have to give away all our money to coaches and managers. I'll represent Robin ''Bumblebee'' Nymann this tournament.

shhh don't spoil the bait

Hey Dario. Hope you will make it to the tournament tomorrow! Best wishes from Bremen! GL!
|
With IPL5 and WCG going on at the same time as this tourney, this sadly doesn't get as much recognition that it deserves I think.
Rooting for TLO to take this one though, don't like zerg all that much but how can you not like TLO?
|
|
Winner of group A will win it all! Heard it here first!
|
what happened to one? why isnt he in any of the brackets?
|
TLO so unlucky. Getting his personal group of death with 3 top ZvZ players ... :S
|
What about group C and D? I don't understand format of this tournament - placing all the best players in 2 groups and leaving other 2 empty? Will be there BYOC winners?
EDIT: now I found out it's just Liquidpedia problem. Full groups roster - http://eset.binarybeast.com/grandfinal
|
I think you just need to log in on liquipedia with your TL account to see a more up-to-date/non-reviewed version.
Gogo TLO, gl! And Socke aswell, but he had better group-drawing skills :p
|
Oh shit just saw that Abomb is in this tournament. He's such a good player; in HOTS, he's top ten GM. I hope to see him do well here.
|
Damn, I was rooting for you TLO T_T. ZvZ is such a volatile matchup
The guy who interviewed JonnyRecco just now is pretty good. Hope to see some more of his interviews.
|
So it seems that One and HappyZerg got replaced by Ourk and Miniraser. Can anyone link me to the anouncement of it?
|
dunno about One but Happyzerg got no Visa.
|
Why is Ourk suddenly Protoss? I thought, he swithed to zerg permanently just a few months ago (and is still zerg in LP).

One pulled out the tournament, Ourk played a person for his spot and won.

Ourk beat JRecco 2-1 last night in practice games PvZ and felt confident he could take out minirazer.

This should be gg! Nice play by bling!

bling is playing really well atm in the finals, looks like he's finding form again!

Yay!!! Bling wins!
Congrats to the Champ!

Gratz bling, even tho I expected recco to win!
Also, is it on purpose that IPL5's brackets are in the OP?

I can confirm that Ourk did indeed play vs AcRo in a best of 5 to decide who took over One's spot.
This was based on the fact that both players lost in the finals of the qualifier that One got his spot in. They had also both finished second in one other qualifier on top of that. By virtue of this we felt that these two individuals deserved the opportunity to take the last slot.
|
Thank you very much for the confirmation.

It was an amazing event, really hope everyone enjoyed it. ESET did such a great job and I cannot wait until insomnia 48!
Only downside was my car breaking on the drive back, didn't get in until 5am local time this morning, that was harshhhh after a 6 hour journey lol

You twitter whores :p Pleasure meeting you 2 this weekend.
Much thanks to ESET for making events like this possible. Between you and me it's crucial that we get non-hardware/game publishers involved as sponsors for esports. ESET really stepped up big here catering to gamers and esports. If you'd like to do your part follow up on http://www.twitter.com/ESETUKMasters

Martijn, it was a pleasure meeting you as well! ofc I am a twitter whore though, I FRIGGING LOVE TWEETS
But in all seriousness, make sure all you guys tweet @ESETUKMASTERS to say thanks, also I can assure you their antivirus is pretty swish - using it now (honest opinion, honest )
