I'm actually surprised the SC2 prize pool is higher than the team based games, considering that they need to split the money between multiple persons. That said, I'm definitely looking forward to this

Yay! More Swedish tournaments! It's also nice to have the qualifiers during Gamex (A Swedish gaming expo) and DH:Winter!

Now, I'm wondering how E-Sport SM could top this...

Wednesday was derived from the name Wotan (which is Odin) and I believe friday was actually frigga's day

As awesome as this sounds, if there are no good casters, it will get little viewers. Viewers watch sc2 to hear entertaining casters 75% and the rest are games players production etc

Nice to see CDON getting in on some of this business. They've actually had some of the best prices on video games in Sweden, which was a complete suprise to me.

I haven't been able to find at what time on sunday the 7th that the tournament is taking place any help ?

Hi desRow, We´re waiting to see how many outside of Sweden will participate and then we will make a decision. But it looks like its going to be 18:00 CEST.

Depends on how many "extra" slots is needed. Since there is 8 times in total to qualify we wont be adding another 64 slots just for 4-5 players.

Since the first qualifer is already 90% full with a week to go you can probably easily fill another 64 spots.

All things considered I'm assuming that online qualifiers are restricted to EU accounts only, but I find it embarrassing that they can't state that anywhere. Literally not even on the website that supposedly has all the details. Is it really that hard to mention something like that that's kind of important? Just a little bit maybe?

Aside from that, looks to be a pretty damn good tournament.

We haven't fully decided if all the qualifiers will be on the EU server but we will update when we have made our decision.
Sorry for not deciding this beforehand

Hmm, absolutely no attention for the first qualifier.
Some decent matches, Bly beat Vortix and Grubby won from Lucifron.

Maybe you should think about changing the dates of some qualifiers? I really want to qualify but there is only 4 chances left with online qualies and like 3 are during major tournaments: 21st october is during DH bucharest, 17-18 november is WCS World and late november IPL5 so qualifier December 2nd is so-so too.

Kind of weird that the prizemoney are bigger for SC2 than LoL, eventhough LoL is so much bigger than SC2. But I'm sure there's some idea behind it.

The esport community in sweden is very elitist, there are more SC2 fans in it than LoL. People prefer Dota 2 and HoN over LoL.

You dont actually, somebody just accidently linked to the "join" part and that's what we've been using. I made the same mistake :D
If you delete the "/join#brackets" we get to go straight to the bracket ^^

If you delete the "/join#brackets" we get to go straight to the bracket ^^

I was told that BinaryBeast is doing some work at the moment and that the casters are going by a .png to keep track.

If CDON would've gotten some decent casters, official stream, and a bit better promotion I could've totally expected this to have 4-5k viewers.

Some obscure Swede that gives mad hipster points to those who do (no points for me neither)

I got a buffer-into-commercial screen for Luci/Kas. Last I saw Kas held off a tank marine attack at his natural but it didnt look like the game was about to end. Who won?

GGs, Kas! Good split when breaking the siege position although the marine drop thingy in the middle of that was a bit questionable. :D

Thanks, AlternativeEgo.

Kas won, he walked over to Luci's base and killed him, Lucifron had lost too much in the previous fight and he caught some units out of position, too.

Your loss. I'm staying for the potential Zanster cred-points.

Tight 37 minute game. Kas 1-0 Dimaga

Missed the second game but it seems like it was short and sweet. 2-0

3rd game ended in the 13th minute after Dimaga sent in a big ling/bling wave.

The fuck?! I'm rocking a bunch of streams which causes some lag (and minor confusion) but did Kas really win that one? Sweet! ..I guess that explains why the stream went down. xD

Haha, yeah. It looked dire for Kas, but dimaga wasted a lot of banelings on buildings and never touched anything but the third. Kas got out tanks and had banshees tearing up the main and natural of Dimaga.

Apollo, Semmler & Adebisi will be doing starcraft2, with 2GD hosting.

Seems like Nerchio gets Sage's spot who went back to korea. Nerchio placed 2nd in that qualifier.

should be a fun event!

So we have Kas, VortiX, Snute and Nerchio as title contenders, looking at the concentration of top Zergs it's likely that Kas won't win so it will probably be another win for the swarm.

It seems Bischu was banking on Kas doing a moderate response. A 4 rax -> SCV marine all-in would have killed Bischu. A 4 CC followup would not be punishable at all. The only thing Bischu could really deal with was a timid pushout with a single CC behind and no fast medivac, siege or banshee.

Kas had 2 medivacs and their marines in Bischu's main while Bischu's army was in Kas' natural. Kas move commands his marines to the natural, but Bischu attacks with probes on the ramp so Kas' marines just stand there while taking fire from probes, a few stalkers and cannons in the natural. He saves 5 in a medivac which is immediately taken down by the stalkers he chooses to fly over.

Bischu proxied a gateway at where the wall off would be for kas.
He immediately threw down a forge and core when it was over and got two cannons up, established his natural and went into standard.

I dont know, I could just not see anything in Kas' play. No early 3rd to take advantage of the failed DTs. No early double upgrade. Yet not a strong enough push to break a lone colossi with some ground support. Then eventually moving 100+ army supply back into main to deal with 6 zealots and lose his 4th in the process, plus not remaking SCVs to random zealot/storm harassment (I was watching prod tab). Also no drops anywhere. Kas didnt really deserve better that game.

Everything he does happens for a reason, I wouldn't be too quick to judge. I feel it's very confusing to play against protoss at the moment, you have to scout and assume a lot and you are not given so many informations. Oddly a player that practices a lot might face more difficulties in this matchup as terran than one that doesn't practice as much but makes blind decisions.

They also had 8 qualifiers, so it's much bigger than one might think.

True, but still - compare it to TSL 4 for example, which had 15 much bigger qualifiers and a 32-player main tournament, with 16k for the winner.
All i'm saying is that the winner will be a happy boy

Couple of ravens wouldve been gold there for poyo too, no reactors on the starports so it wouldnt of seriously hurt his viking production.

Kas can still qualify, and PoYo isn't really a top terran so him losing isn't that much surprising.
The patch doesn't fix the design issues of nowadays TvZ but it seems to help the terrans, or maybe it's just that the zergs haven't adapted to the new range yet and suicide their infestors a little too much.

Looking at that match it does appear snute hasn't quite adapted to the reduced range, he still sends out his infestors a bit too forward to what would use to be a fungal but now just makes him eat tank fire.

Yeah I guess that's why it was so close. We will really see the effects of the patch in one month or two with koreans players.
Right now it makes for more interesting groupstages, since upsets can now happen in TvZ (and maybe PvZ too, didn't watch the games)!

Still has an area of effect damage spell that roots the target and the ability to cast "free" units that does good damage.

Kas could have actually won If he did this earlier and somehow would have managed to secure some bases on the left. Funny game in the end.

Also Zombie Kas in IEM Cologne, starting 0-1 and then managed to take the last two series against NesTea and..eh..some other zerg.

Semi Finals:
Vortix - Bischu
Nerchio - Snute

I'd be very surprised if Bischu beats Vortix.
Snute vs Nerchio is very close, seeing as Snute beat Life and Stephano in ZvZ recently, but lost vs Vortix today

If nerchio switches it up, I doubt he will lose to snute. And yeah, I would also favor vortix vs bischu but the guy plays on his homeground so he might go berzerk.. you never know!

First game - roach ling vs fast third base.
Second game - roach drop in the main with another pack of roaches killing the third and then the natural.

It was updated, just needed approval. You can see the updated results if you are logged in on liquipedia (which you can't as a guest).
