He was forced off the watchtower by bio and medivacs so he knew they were out on the map. He then confirmed there was no continued pressure being exerted through the paths round the middle of the map because he held the second watchtower and nothing came across them. You normally expect bio to flex its muscles a bit once medivacs are out and if there's no pressure coming on the ground there's a good chance it might be coming as a drop. The barracks didn't spot anything along the top of the map but he sent the vikings up below it to cover because it's much more important to pre-empt a drop in the main than into the nat (you tend to rally down to your nat so it's easy to react and defend there and you've got much more to lose in your main (tech/upgrades particularly at that time)). Game sense and a bit of luck. ==== MMA gets the better of the openings in game 3 with nice defence. Wow sick midgame from SuperNova to take control of the game. Kind of a bad decision to attack with so few marines though, nothing to buffer for tanks and lost a ton almost for free. | ||

Had no buffering for his tanks to be so aggressive and threw away his lead. Now he's behind on upgrades and lost control of the centre of the map | ||
