That's... kind of what the whole Coca and Byun situation was... Hope Vibe didn't accept I guess... Still, that's sketchy stuff.
Edit: Humorous context provided on last page, seems like it was just in jest (hopefully).

What about Lucifron? He had 54 going in to this, so a second place will give him 3 more points than Hasu. If he loses to Violet Fraer or Illusion wouldn't that also know out Hasu?

I think Lucifron lost against Major.

- if
Fraer makes the final, he will have qualified as well, pushing HasuObs out of the top 8
- if
Fraer wins the qualifier, HasuObs will stay in the top 8 and qualify
- if either
SeleCT or MajOr wins this last qualifier, then HasuObs and ReaL or Fraer (if in final) will have qualified
Does that mean there's a possibility of a tie (Real and Fraer?) and therefore a tiebreaker? Nope, Real has 146 points in 9th place. Fraer currently has 103 points.
Fraer will have 122 points if he reaches the semifinals or 162 points if he reaches the final.

Ah, looks like there are a few reports of that despite liquipedia and the stream lagging behind. Shame, could have used a few more terrans.

Don't you dare not stream Fraer vs viOlet!

Additionally, Major was already guaranteed a spot even before his series with Lucifron, and he won that one 2-1. I don't think we should read too much into inappropriate match fixing jokes unless there's concrete evidence that this happened.

Will there be an embedded stream today or just an external like yesterday?

It was an inappropriate joke imo. Major was watching his stream and talking in stream chat. He wouldn't broadcast that to hundreds of people if it was serious. Also he was making little faces and stuff, the whole tone of the conversation was sarcastic.

Well, it didnt happen. vibe denied it, but it didnt he seem he thought that this was a joke. Major might not play his A-game now, but unless its extremly obvious nothing you can do about.

CoCa vs Byun was problematic because they played out the games, and then CoCa left after all but winning game 2. I don't think anyone would've batted an eyelid if he just forfeited before they started playing. It's kind of impossible to stop players from forfeiting matches, and I find it difficult to believe that TL would DQ Major for wanting to forfeit. For talking to Vibe and trying to make some kind of deal, sure, but no tournament can force someone to play against their wishes. When they try, it just leads to retarded situations, like Naniwa's probe rush.

Thanks hotbid, would hate to see Vibe lose his chance to qualify because of a joke. Especially considering how jocular major is anyways.

T.T
Players spoiling everything and most of the important games not being streamed doesn't make the qualifiers very entertaining to follow.

Illusion is spoiling so much information on twitter.

I meant to say by mock-outrage: just as the situation with coca and byun was blown completely out of proportion, so would any kind of accusations of match-fixing on the grounds of internet-banter be making something out of nothing (or something so close to nothing that it isn't worth mentioning).

Wouldn't be surprised at all if Select just gave him the win....

It was maybe blown marginally out of proportion. Code A seed is a pretty big deal and match fixing is part of why Broodwar is in its death throws right now.
