Yea, DRG fucking destorys people with his multi-tasking alone. I don't think it's a coincidence that one of the strongest mechanical players in the game won the tourny.

But he still lost to Socke. ^^

Socke beating DRG is a one hit wonder dude ^^.

Pfffahahahah giving seeds to Koreans? What a good joke

???

When the program existed, the code S seeds were always available to Korean players and were frequently given to them, allowing such players as MC and MMA to make quick returns to Code S after bad seasons. Since they've moved to a less rule governed invite system, two Koreans have received Code S seeds, Polt and Violet.

I would have thought someone with so many posts would have a clue what they were talking about.

I can see SaSe and Alicia being the next two invites - depending on how Dreamhack goes.

Possibly. They've made it sound like one of the August seeds has basically been verbally promised to Stephano if he wants it and he's heading over to Korea then. If so, the other would be one of the two you mentioned, I'd imagine.

Socke actually did really good. We've seen him at most, maybe all MLG tournaments, and he's really starting to show a good amount of improvement. It'll be interesting to see if he can keep it up.

Socke almost beat him at last spring arena as well, so it's hardly a one hit wonder. If Socke wins that last game against SaSe he actually wins the group of death and we have a totally different scenario for this tournament....

Only if, right?

Point is, anyone can beat anyone in a BO3 at the top tier level, so you really can't read much into the Socke DRG match beyond the fact that yes, Socke can compete with the best of them.

Called this days ago. Can't believe so many people were ignoring the guys who won/made the finals of 3 out of the 4 previous MLG's.

The current meta game suits Socke very well because it's essentially how he's always played. I'm not sure how much is a big leap forward from Socke and how much it's because his style is in style right now.

A foreigner will probably do pretty well at Dreamhack given how underwhelming the Korean invites are for it so I expect whoever that is to be a likely seed candidate, plus there's also NASL finals soonish.

I'm not saying Socke > DRG or that he would beat him more often than not. Just saying that Socke has proven enough times that he is no "one hit wonder". And the fact that Socke can compete with the best is pretty big actually, you can't say that about many foreigners at this point.

listening to the LoL stream and MLG is using a much better audio source for audience noise

no idea why MLG doesn't do the same for SC2

And what started this debate? Oh yeah, mechanics. The point was that DRG proved mechanics do matter in starcraft 2 and having such superior mechanics makes him own face. The counterpoint was that he lost to socke. The resolution being some reason from watching the series, which I didn't. But I would guess good mechanics cant win with bad decision making

Yeah his multi-tasking and triple-pronged attacks rivaled those of even MKP. I think having a very high EPM best serves Zerg as well, so it's a good fit.
