There were 2-3(?) players after Parting that could have brought it back in their favor, but people look at it as if Gom just chose a winner right there and then.
When you're completely dead and the game is over, a regame is to say the least, an award.

You know, I rewatched the game on youtube [link] (it's Chinese stream so they have broadcast rights, it's not ripoff of Gretech) and Parting had no forward pylon. He had a warp prism floating (not in phase mode) in MKPs main (and MKP had vikings around so that's gone) and no collusi nearby, and the closest pylon he had was by HIS OWN 4th. MKP at worst loses 3rax there but probably not even, and so he still has 9rax left. The production he was in on was some of the extra rax outside MKPs nat. Parting had mostly zlots and stalkers, no archons morphed or nearby. MKP probably could have held that, esp fighting at the ramps and chokes near his natural vs mostly chargelot. Say what you will about that but I don't think Parting has it won at that moment. He could still overextend with templar, lose them, and then they're on equal base with equal harvest (i.e. MKP can lose like 20 and then mules will make up the difference till he rebuilds). It wasn't warpins of units into MKPs production line.

People are cry babies, we all know MKP is better than parting. Their overall game record is like 2-0(mlg). 2-0 (other tournament i cannot remember right now), 2-1(mlg), 1-1 (giving you guys one of the gtsl finals regame) 2-0 (starwars 7), 1-2 (gsl). so.. 11-4 in games, sure mkp has won in other qualiers also. In sets mkp is 4-1. Stop with the gtsl finals winning, mkp has won more overall.

Everything you said is correct which is why they elected to do regame. However after it gets cleaned up the second wave of templar would probably have killed him provided he hits his storms which in that game seemed like a certainty. While I support the regame Parting was still going to probably win that game fairly easily.
