I have to hear he had results prior to hoping for him to get results. It's not stupid. I want to become a fan after he his a great player not to cheer for him when he struggles. It's just a let down.
A real fan cheers for their player through thick and thin. You're not a real fan.
Nope, I am not anymore. The thin got really thin for me. Too thin.
Wow, you were never a fan if thats your attitude. Boxer had gotten into Code S for the first season this year. He lost to MKP and Puma dude. MKP has been on fire this year and Puma is certainly no slouch. Did you see him at IEM beating MMA?
I'm glad your not a fan of Boxer, you're not worth of it.
It's not about the score but the games. He has lots to improve to be on the same level of the current terrans.
And he always gets leads and then throws aways the game with a stupid move.
I was introduced to eSports many years ago with replays of Boxers dropship+tank micro. The emperor will always have a place in my heart <3
Ofc I still love Boxer, will just not blindly root for him in the future.
If you don't root for Boxer, who will you root for? Yes, today was very frustrating for Boxer fans, but think about how he feels. The guy is more than 30 years old, and has been gaming professionally at a time when some of the younger players in the scene now were in diapers.
He doesn't have to compete in SC2. He's famous, pretty well off financially, his girlfriend is a famous actress, etc. He doesn't have to prove anything: Everyone knows that he is the Emperor, and no one has had as much of an impact on BW as he did. He keeps on fighting because he has so much invested into Esports, and the growth of SC2 in Korea. It is completely selfless, and while all his peers and contemporaries are retiring, Boxer goes back into the booth time and time again, coming back after every setback and disappointment. I root for Slayers Boxer unconditionally, because very few people inspire me like he does. It's not just about the games, it's about the context.
You act like he's an old man who actually cannot compete anymore. He is a very good player and if you watch his stream you'll see he beats GSL Code S material every day in convincing fashion. He had results in Starcraft 2 as well even though he didn't win anything major. BoxeR usually never lets down if he prepares.
The problem is that he has numerous health issues. I remember from the documentary Boxer's Wings back in 2010 that he has problems with his shoulder, and that they do cause him issues. Furthermore, he also mentioned a lot of times in interviews, such as the one from MLG Providence, the thoughts of retirement do occasionally pop up. I was also a bit worried when he decided to become a player-coach, as I fear that that might be a slow transition to retirement.
Boxer is definitely a very strong player, but he is definitely an "old man" by progamer standards. I guess I do hold an expectation that is high, but it stems from memories from when he was bonjwa.
I find it odd that you say you have memories of him as a bonjwa, but you've only been on tl.net since 2011. Did you watch bw long before you made a tl account?

aside from the 1/1/1 anti-hype (which he did not do a single 1/1/1 in the NASL 1 2 Dreamhack or IEM Grand finals FINALS (as in the last games)) he is the most lovable guy, he is shy and fun, and he has the skills of a code s player with amazing TvP and TvT and Code A level TvZ
He is also much better then Boxer, and has posts results in like 3/4 foreigner tournaments he attneds
1st NASL 1st NASL 2 1st IEM Cologne (only final he's done 1/1/1 in) 2nd Dreamhack 2nd IEM Finals 3rd IEM Guangzo 3rd Asus ROG (against lucky, and to Stephano and Polt) 5th IPL 3 5th MLG Raleigh 7th MLG Orlando 11th MLG Providence
AMAZING results, more then most players would achieve in 4 years
players he's beat
MMA, MC(3-0) Hero, Zenio, JYP, SeleCT, Dimaga, Killer, ToD, MKP, Kas, Titan, Lucky (3-0), Thorzain, IdrA, DRG (2-0 at Dreamhack), Genius (2-0 at Dreamhack) Losira, Bomber, Polt, Happy, NaDa, aLive (qualified for NASL), Clide, sage, PUZZLE, Coca, Min, and TONS in GSTL 70% win rate foreigner TLPD, 60 % Korean TLPD
Skilled, shy(which everyone seems to like in koreans) AMAZING player, great results, talented, best friends with HerO, MC, Sirius, JYP and more, only drama was when mr. Chae overreacted to his transfer
vs
1/1/1 v P some people hate team EG
I don't deny that PuMa is a good player. I don't hate EG. I just don't like PuMa. That's all. I won't insult him like a rapper would, but I will express a certain dislike towards him here (as I have done before on several occasions).
Out of curiosity, why do you not like him?
The main reason is just emotion. Sure I don't find his playstyle that entertaining and he beat players I really like in important matches (e.g. ThorZaIN, HerO, MMA, HasuObs). But really the main thing is emotional: I just don't feel anything when I see him play. When PuMa plays it's just not exciting for me, I don't feel the great joy I get from seeing other people do amazing things, I don't have the feeling to cheer for him and I don't feel satisfied or even happy when I see him win.
Did that answer your question properly?
not trying to pick a fight, just being curious. it sounds more like you don't like (a lack of like) him more than dislike him. is this the case?

As what? I draw? He still would have less wins than Puma so it wouldnt make a difference
The ironsquid website standings http://www.ironsquid.tv/tournament/1/stg/1 appear to rank players by points. With 3 points for a win. The page also has a series drawn column. Usually draws award 1 point for each team.
In this case, if draws exist as their website states, then the boxer/mkp shouldn't have been replayed after the draw. MKP would have ended up with a 3-0-1 record = 10 points Boxer would have ended up with a 2-1-1 record = 7 points Puma would have ended up with a 2-2-0 record = 6 points
Why did Boxer move out at the end of game 2? And why did he take such a weird route? He must have known he was somewhat ahead economically, and against BaseTradeKingPrime..?
Ah well bad luck Boxer, good on Foxer for doing his best.

Ahh Thank you so much sir :D
Oh wait wednesday t.t VODs i hope? Chelsea vs Napoli weds ;;
Am I right in assuming VoDs for a particular show number don't go up until the re-broadcasts for that show are complete? None of the re-broadcasts fit well with my job+sleep cycle (all start between 3am and and 10am here in AEST, except for one that is at 1pm, so I'm either asleep or at work).

About Draw issue, The Draw should give a point only if they ended the Series with the same score (1-1 or 2-2). Draw in a set means a rematch (IEM did the same with HasuObs vs Elfi on Cloud Kingdom). Our Column "Draw" was only to propose a full detailed scheme. Sorry for inconvenience.
That means :
In Group A MKP vs BoxeR match was : 2 win for MKP 1 win for BoxeR and 1 Draw. Final score of the Serie is : MKP win 2-1 BoxeR (with 1 regame on Antiga).
No draw at all in this series. If a players disconnected we should do the same by showing you the whole series with the map with the disconnection.
