If I were a betting man I seriously don't know who I'd put a bet on this game, SlayerS definitely have the deeper lineup. But you only get to field (up to) five players and both teams have big talent. What I'm going to focus on in this post is the players who aren't available and what it could mean for each team, as I think this is very interesting part of todays match. SlayerS - GanZi / Taeja --------------- For SlayerS: With these guys away at foreigner tournaments you have two very solid/fantastic TvT/TvZ players missing. Luckily the oGs isn't the strongest in the GTSL (historically oGs zergs have a hard time against terran aswell). If Zenio gets called out and plays really well he could potentially cause a couple of problems, but with the depth SlayerS have one would imagine they have a player prepared for a zerg who happens to go unchecked for a game or two. The bigger worry would be the TvT those two are capable of playing, if an oGs terran decides to have a really good day things could get really interesting. For oGs-TL: oGs must be smiling with these guys being out of the country, two very strong players they don't need to worry about tonight. If someone gets on a good run early you could draw out a player like MMA or Puzzle earlier than SlayerS might have liked, which could bring a sniper into play perhaps. oGs-TL - TheStC / HerO / Jinro --------------- For oGs-TL: TheStC is a big loss, a great all round player. When he's on form he is a beast, his bio play will be missed if a SlayerS protoss decides to go on a rampage. If he was around Fin could've prepared for a specific matchup/snipe but oGs might need to take extra care in when he is used now. HerO will be a loss aswell, an unpredictable player who is at times meh, but at times brilliant. It gives oGs less options, and SlayerS less to prepare for. When it comes to Jinro you wonder if he will be used at all, since oGs is so stacked when it comes to terrans. But Jinro is a very good player who is not an option for this match, he could've prepared for a certain map/snipe/etc. For SlayerS: HerO and Jinro will missing will mean less to worry about, HerO could've be a menace but I with oGs having a small protoss lineup I think SlayerS would have prepared someone to take him out if he appeared. But it does mean they can focus more on VINES and InCa so it does hurt still. The big plus though would be TheStC not being available for the match (especially with GanZi and Taeja away). Perhaps the 2nd strongest player on oGs at the moment, SlayerS must be smiling about that. A few quick wins could draw out SuperNoVa earlier than oGs might have liked. Will be interesting to see how Fin might be used because of TheStC's absence. So looking forward! | ||
