On one side we have MKP the two time defending champion of the FXOpen invitational series. On the other we have TSL Polt. Both of these players are finalist material in this event. Polt has been playing really well recently, but so has MKP. With MKP coming through SaSe with what seemed like little to no effort. Polt coming through Fin with the same ease. I am going to have to go with Polt purely on his TvT prowess in this matchup - Polt 2-1 MKP
Leenock vs July is going to be a very very interesting game. It will either be over in 2-3 5 minute games or be so massively drawn out its not funny. Leenock’s zvz has not been his best matchup for a while. This coming with the unpredictability of July’s style can cause lots of interesting games. But I think the difference in the play styles will help July a lot more than Leenock here. - July 2-0 Leenock

The two brothers from Slayers, both have the skill to go deep in this invitational but puzzle has pulled himself together more often than ryung in tournaments recently. Having a dominant performance in almost all his matchups is hard to see ryung taking down puzzle. - Puzzle 2-0 Ryung
Jjakji, fresh off of his Code S, is going to take on Code S drop out Zenio. Jjakji is a clear favourite here, his TvZ is remarkable, and Zenio's ZvT isn't all that hot as seen at IEM Kiev, constantly throwing away units and creating bad positions for himself. There isn't much known about Revival's ZvZ, especially since he hasn't had a single ZvZ in the GSL. He does, however, have the same name as a Korean fighter (???) and he looks pretty scary (yeah, I'm grasping at straws). Lucky's ZvZ is mostly known for his IPL3 grand final, where he didn't fare too well against Stephano. Lucky did take out IdrA in Code S though, so his ZvZ can't be too bad. Stomping through seemingly everyone, Oz I think is favourite to beat Clide here (unless you ask Tasteless). Oz won pretty handily against Jinro, and Clide didnt seem his usual self against HyuN in the first round, so I think Oz is a favourite, but it won't be impossible for Clide to win. DongRaeGu is known as the terran killer for a reason. Despite a shaky first round, he's a big favourite here. asd is a solid terran, but DRG is DRG. If asd wins I think it will be the biggest upset of the round, which sucks cos asd is such a nice guy - DongRaeGu 2-0 asd

I like the July > Leenock prediction, but his z v z seems to be more inconsistent than Leenock's. Sad about the two team kills today. The only consolation is that at least your teammate moves on if you lose.
July's ZvZ is pretty weak. His over-aggression bites him in the ass against competent players, and it seems like he has a hard time reading his opponent.
Polt must have taken falling to Code A seriously, been on a tear these last few weeks. Can't wait for his games against Creator will be really interesting.
July winning a z v z will really make this day awesome. Z v z's are stressful enough already, but when you're favorite player does so statistically bad at them, they are so frustrating and nerve-wracking to watch.
Look at him getting completely bullied even after taking such a huge lead. Ryung's army control is on a completely different level, better 7 gate next game Puzzle, 30 supply lead is not enough!

I think not having upgrades cost puzzle that game. Also not being able to hit storms. Puzzle is kind of a hit or miss player. He can look great or he can look really poor.

With the CC once the 7gate had done damage he could claw his way back into the game.
The 3rd CC was also map-dependant. If the natural had been more exposed, Ryung would have straight up died to the 7gate. Because it's so hard to push up that ramp, he could get away with less army and more eco.

I think getting the third cc was the optimal choice for Ryung, if you choose to put down barracks instead, the units never come out in time and when they do you are already too far behind, anyways, Puzzle could've probably won if he had continued to press forward.

Yes. Good thing he read the 7 gate perfectly though. How did he find out? A scan? An SCV spotted the gates or the army?

What the hell are you talking about? The 3rd CC wasn't reactive to the 7gate, he decided to do that way before Puzzle started warping in his extra 4 gateways.
If he'd chosen to put down Barracks, he would have done so before the 4 gates started. He would have had a ton more units to hold off the attack.
And Puzzle could no way have won if he moved forwards. Barracks streaming out units, the narrowest chokepoint in the whole map, stop position SCVs, Puzzle's mineral bank was running low (no more Zealots), Ryung had +1 weaps and stim finished, Puzzle's Sentries were all gone...

Even if it evolve like that, it's still max army vs max army deathball style in every PvT. Watching gateway army + colossus + templar + archon fight versus MMMVG and the big engagement of that make the game is not as exiting as ZvT.
Reminded me of a recent game with RainBOw on the same map where he went for a split map situation with mass planetaries and bunkers. He went as far as to get the cargo upgrade and have like 20 bunkers with 6 slot storage. After 50mins he got crushed in 1 battle and promptly lost the game due to not being able to resupply the Protoss way...
Personally Clide vs Oz game 1 just angered me. Oz just kinda of walked around whilst getting picked appart by nukes (multiple nukes landing flush on 20+ probe expansions without the probes being pulled). He managed to attack into a pre spread army behind 3 planetary fortresses and make it close enough that Clide decided he wasn't in a position to counter and do any damage. Some people cite the supply difference but tomato marauders and a dozen vikings don't fare well against a 20 chargelot warp in round. Oz won one battle decisively and that was the end of the game as is always the case (which is a shame).
Its just nice to be able to watch these high level korean games outside of the GSL and its appreciated. Just wish I could get more enjoyment from PvT
100 supply to 200 and clide doesnt finish him off. scans see 7 zealots, 1 high templar and backs offfffff... now that i think about it, clide was the one that had that really really really bad tvp against killer.

Yes perhaps they sacrificed some frame rate for 1080p. Lowering the frame rate is the first thing I did when I wanted to up the picture quality and didn't have any more bandwidth for my own streaming.
