Is there some rule saying that mapscore 4-2 beats 5-3? Better % But is this a rule? Where is it put down? I can not say sorry, depends on the tourney. I know homestorycup did. There are no cases of this kind in HSC IV at least. Cause this is simply not true. If they have 3-4 and 4-5 it is even and head to head counts, which would be in favour of Grubby. I'm not making a claim so I don't know what you say is false or not. My interpretation agrees with yours (which mean that Grubby can take first), but some claim that win percentage is a tiebreaker of higher rank than head-to-head, which would put Ret in first regardless.

Unless liquipedia updated instantly (which is quite likely) and Ret would end up 4-2 (i havent been watching until now) I agree that they should use the head to head match. This is what they did in HomeStoryCup too. 5-3, 4-2 are both +2 map wins.

I think that Grubby should be first in the group if he wins 2-0 because he won against Ret, clearly he is better. 4-2 has a better win percentage than 5-3. But unless someone coughs up the rulebook of this tournament and points at the relevant text, we're still just speculating. I belive TB said theye run them the same way Dreamhack does. Wich I belive basically is: 1. Score 2. Mapscore (only the differance between won and lost maps count here) 3. number of won map 4. head to head encounter. Under those rules 4-5 will always bear 3-4. (Mapscore is -1 in both cases: hence even. 4 won maps beats 3 won maps.) This basically holds true even in 3-way ties. now some tournaments cound Head to head before mapscore, wich tend to medd things up, especially if not everyone is informed of what actually is the case ![]() (edit spelling)

Yeah huge spoiler there, right? No one saw that coming. As for the rules being distributed, why does it matter to you? The people who need to know them, know them.
