Hi, I have no idea wtf I just watched. I don't see another thread about it. MKP vs. check?

Was it just a random match that they casted? A show match? I went into it with the assumption that it was a qualifier for IPL 4, but it seemed to me that they "neglected" to mention that fact until after the game.

Although I suppose it should have been obvious in the first place from the absurd games.

Dude, yakisoba is the best man. You should try it.

It's like 20PHP or .50 USD. 1am midnight snack while playing Sc2. Excellent with coke

why are ign including korea in the sea region? i know where korea is -_- its just that no one else does this in starcraft. a few sea gems appeared at blizzcon showing that they can give good games but against a field of mostly koreans they have no hope of qualifying even if they deserve to be there more than a westerner

quite disapointing really

Erg what? I don't understand this at all. Pacific = Philippines/Australia/Taiwan/Korea?? Why are there so many meh players a few countries and why aren't there more awesome players from other countries.

Sure it's a good list, but my mass Koreans and mass Philippines when there are so many other countries out there in the Pacific that should be qualifying for this....
And what the heck? SaSe, NaniWa and cArn are in it too? Seriously makes no sense. They are in Korea so their using this as a chance to qualify for the Pacific instead of the European?

Overall I'm disappointed with this qualifier.... It doesn't REALLY matter because only like 4 players on this list are capable of winning, and the others are just there to test their luck, but still, this could be WAY cooler ~_~

I think the problem was integrating the IPL qualifiers to an already existing tournament. There is definitely a conflict in interest between "PPSL" and "IPL PACIFIC qualifiers". PPSL as I see it, is mainly for promoting esports in the Philippines and showcasing the host's (Team AZK) players and other local talent. While IPL qualifiers should be about being represented by the best in Asia Pacific region as a whole, not just best in the Philippines, a few players living in Korea, and Sen.

If I'm not mistaken a big part of the lineup was already decided before this even became an IPL qualifier, hence based on how you look at it, I guess you could say a bit disappointing. Hoping for a big improvement and at least a separate tournament for the succeeding qualifiers.

This is just a beginning.

It will pave the way for more sponsors, more tournaments, and will publicize Sc2 in the region.

It's a good springboard not only for PH Esports but for SEA as well. Good for progamers in SEA region, even if they weren't able to join this one. More money for ya in the future. It's a good business decision IMO.

Not trying to be harsh or anything but couple months ago teamazk or whatever posts things daily onto teamliquid.net and they always advertise that they have show matches tournaments with all these sponsors but i never see any matches? and didnt team azk also announce they signed viOlet from MVP? what happened with that and also they posted another tournament and had pictures of korean players but something was wrong they said MC or one of the korean gamers was going and they posted a wrong picture of the player i dont know i think this "team azk" is just trying to get exposure from team liquid

This will not be the only way people from the South East Asia area can qualifier for IPL 4 by a long shot. This is for one spot.

Waitaminute...what? MKP, MC, Naniwa, et. al. are all going to be competing live in Glorietta with Tastosis casting them?! Am I getting things right? Cause I live like 30 minutes away and I never thought in a million years we'd actually get a tourney like this in Manila. o_o

This event is going to be epic, not just for the local community but for the international community as well. Players locally could actually showcase their talent because the event is being broadcasted worldwide. Its more of a good thing really and its just spreading esports around the world. Thank you Team AZK for bringing it in the Philippines.

Using this to qualify for the IPL? like really? so how bout the Koreans that goes to MLG tournaments just to get Code S? its pretty much the same thing..plus Professional gamers go to tournaments to win, promote there team and there own Fame..having big names in this tournament really helps promote the SEA scene in General. Honestly I think this is the first live event in the SEA region that has some big names in them. Hopefully more will pick up in Australia/Malaysia/Singapore etc.

Any Pro Gamer would go to every tournament they can possibly go to so they can get money or try there luck against better players. I have done that before when I was playing CS 1.6 for money. I would go to every tournament possible to win and get some mad cash and I don't care where it is and who I'm playing as long as I can go. So I'm pretty sure that's how all these big names are looking at PPSL. If they win then they get money plus being qualified for IPL 4. Judging by the prize pool from IPL 3 I would definitely try everything to qualify for IPL 4.
