group a and group b: LOLZ

so easy, MKP and MC should be able to win undefeated in their sleep.

all other groups are surprisingly well sprinkled with known progamers, at most three in every single one. Should be interesting to see so many new faces, hope some new heros rise.

I like the balanced groups, no 2 WTFOMG players in any group. Looking forward to it, but there better be an english stream. (there really probably will be, can't see this big a tourney being without one)

Nice looking groups, I'm sure Haypro is thrilled to have to face MKP again so soon.

Yea I'd say group 5 is probably the hardest to predict (aside for Stephano #1). Could see 3 competing for the second spot.

Is there any info on stream/casters? I guess tastosis are at blizzcon. And day[9] probably is too.

Hopefully they're using d'apollo/TB.

EDIT: looking at their broadcast schedule... we won't get much of the group stage. And they only scheduled 2 hours for the quarterfinals and semis (2 for each). So we might get to see both semis. But we definitely won't get to see all 4 quarters .

There's no broadcast schedule announced yet. I think the schedule that you are looking at is the stage schedule. Stream info will be announced asap.

wow, didnt know that comes so early.

Here my group analysis

Group 1

MarineKingPrime will most liekly go 5-0. HayprO should beat any1 else, but i think Pomi might take him out since hes a good protoss player. Still, Haypro will be 2nd, since i doubt Pomi will win vs the remaining 3.
Aures is an unpredictable terran player with pretty cheesy allins from time to time. Skillwise, i give him the 4th place, followed by the solid zerg KenZy, who doesnt seem to play a lot lately. Gotta give Moutas the last rank, although hes not too bad of a zerg.
1. MarineKing
2. HayprO
3. Pomi
4. AureS
5. KenZy
6. Moutas

Group 2

MC is obviously the easy pick here - 5-0 most likely. 2nd rank is pretty rough to decide between ALF (Who is Alf?^^), merz and Bischu. You may not know Alf, but hes a pretty strong zerg player who takes out many big names. I belive he has good chances to take the 2nd. Merz on the other hand seems like the most solid player out of those 3, Bischu appears to be a bit cheesy imo, but has strong PvT. Its close - but i acutally go with merz cause of his offline strengh. uThermal is an ok protoss and i never heard of Blight, thats why i say uthermal in 5th and Blight in last.
1. MC
2. merz
3. ALF
4. Bischu
5. uThermal
6. Blight

Group 3

IdrA is the favorite in this group, although ClouD could surprise, but i doubt it since ZvT is idras strongest MU. IdrA vs Orly... its ZvZ after all, same goes for Bly. And bly is a cheesy rat. I dont see IdrA 5-0ing this, but still i give him the first place. Followed by ClouD, he should be solid enough to beat any1 else - and he has the advatage to concentrate on TvZ for this. Orly over Bly cause Orly is solid and Bly is cheesy, but it could go both ways. Harpner is grandmaster on eu, protoss, but at least 1 step behind the first 4 players. Dont know the japanese player, therefore cant judge him.
1. IdrA
2. ClouD
3. Orly
4. Bly
5. Harpner
6. nemuke

Group 4

I think DarkFoRcE might beat ThorZaiN due to his ZvT strengh and thorzains TvZ "weakness", but even if that happens i think Thorzain takes #1 with darkforce in 2nd. I think CocoA and LiveZerg are pretty evenly matched, either one takes 3, the other one 4, but none of them should beat either Thorzain or Darkforce. I heard of Spoon before, but i have no idea who Evuser is, so i think Spoon takes the 5th over Evuser :D
1. ThorZaiN
2. DarKFoRcE
3. LiveZerg
4. CocoA
5. Spoon
6. Evuser

Group 5

Stephano most likely 5-0's this group, even though he has pretty strong opponents: Grubby, Nighend and sLivko are pretty strong and pretty evenly matched. Nightend has strong PvP, Grubby just trained in Korea and shows good results. I go with Grubby in 2nd and Nightend in 3rd, followed by sLivko. cArn could purprise people, although his main focus is not on sc2 obviously. But i give him the 5th spot with Leugim at last, since i never heard of this guy and neither played him.
1. Stephano
2. Grubby
3. NightEnD
4. sLivko
5. cArn
6. Leugim

Group 6

Finally, Nerchio can show the world what hes made of by taking this group 5-0 ezpz. Ezpz? No, not this group since its pretty strong Strelok should be the strongest opponent and the favorite for rank 2, followed by Axlav. Snute and Seiplo are both pretty high ranked GM players in europe and capable of winning matches vs any other player in the group, making it very exciting. Prolly 1 of them takes 2 or 3, but i still place them on rank 4 and 5 (seiplo over snute). I dont know who ZhevZ is, but i doubt he will win any map in this hard group.
1. Nerchio
2. Strelok
3. Axlav
4. Seiplo
5. Snute
6. ZhevZ

Group 7

Socke is rocksolid and in my opinion the favorite to take this group over SjoW, but it could go either way. I go with Socke in first, SjoW in 2nd - LoWeLy could take out both though with his aggressive playstyle. Paranoid was pretty good like half a year ago, but went inactive for a long time. He is still pretty good and might surprise, but i dont think he can make top 3 here. Jarlaxle and raZiel - not rly. But since i heard of raziel before, i give him the 5th rank here in Group 7.
1. Socke
2. SjoW
3. LoWeLy
4. Paranoid
5. RaZieL
6. Jarlaxle

Group 8

MaNa looks like the favorite in this group, but there is no terran in his group. Ofc, hes strong in all matchups, but PvT is still his best. Just cause he is MaNa, he must be the favorite for rank 1, followed by elfi who showed great results lately. sYz and biGs are in my opinion equally good - and they indeed are pretty good, but i give sYz the upper hand just cause i think he trains a lot lately. Deny in 5th, played him 1-2 times i believe, Sleeep is not rly good i belive although i never played him.
1. MaNa
2. elfitaja
3. sYz
4. biGs
5. Deny
6. Sleeep

Group 1: I agree.

Group 2: MC will be first and ALF will be second, he's unknown but I believe he's good enough to get 2nd place in this group.

Group 3: Not actually sure here because of Bly. Cloud either plays extremely good or just bad in ladder or in tournaments and Bly took out Dimaga many times in ZvZ so he might take out Idra and Cloud if everything goes "as planned" Might be an "upset" here.

Group 4: I agree.

Group 5: For this group I think everyone agrees that Stephano will take 1st but for second place I really dont know. I havent seen cArn play, he's training in korea for long time so he should be good and might take second..and sLivko is good zerg that might cause "upset", I think it will be very hard to guess who will be second in this group because there are 4 players who can take out each other easily, but I do know it wont be Leugim

Group 6: Nerchio will be 1st for sure. Second place might be an upset with Snute winning other players, he will do very good if he doesnt have nerv issues, if he has then Strelok will take it most likely, but giving Snute upper hand.

Group 7: No one can beat Socke here, maybe Sjow with 1-1-1 but I dont think Socke will lose twice to it. I think Lowely will be taking second place here causing upset over Sjow.

Group 8: I agree.

Favorites to win whole thing:

Terran: MKP and Thorzain.

Protoss: Socke, MaNa and MC (dont know how Grubby is playing after training in KR so he might do well but cant say, havent seen him play in a while )

Zerg: Nerchio, Idra and Stephano.

I didnt look who will play who after groups are done, but it all depends who will play who, MKP will eat all zergs because he plays aggressive and both Nerchio and Stephano rush tier 3 which dies to pressure if played well (doubt MKP will play bad) and Idra plays "greedy" style which might just die to mass helion or heavy marine pressure.

If Thorzain meets zergs I think he will lose because all 3 zergs play certain style that you must keep pressure on and the "Spoon" tactic wont work on them.

For protosses all 3 of them will most likely lose to Thorzain and both Nerchio and Stephano because Idra's ZvP doesnt seem good and MKP's TvP.

As far as zergs go if Stephano or Nerchio go in late game unharassed they wont lose in any MU (Idra only in ZvT), but all of them might die to 6-8 gates or mass helion builds, again all depends who plays who

MC likely to lose to Thorzain, Nerchio and Stephano...? Wat? Positive records vs Stephano and Thorzain. MC is favored against all foreigners except Huk pretty much. And thats PvP so it can go either way.
