In Korea they consider that you are born 1 year old, and you age at the new year instead of on the day you are born. So you can be 1 or 2 years older in Korean age than western age.
I guess they consider that when you are born it is your first year, but I'm not sure why you age on new year. I guess its just a different way of doing it, at least you don't have to remember birthdays so much in Korea.
