You need to manually start the stream by clicking on the stream. It's just embedded. Also, the stream shuts down if they are in a game. Furthermore, their NA qualifiers last month -- which were NOT embedded -- drew 60k viewers, which is comparable to the SC2 stream now. It's not a surprise that the finals would draw much more. LoL is also a team game, which has traditionally drawn more viewers than solo games. There are obviously some dudes who just left on the stream and afk'd, but don't spread blatant lies about how their stream numbers are artificially inflated. LoL is free, is casual, and their competitive scene is supported more overtly than SC2's, it's not a surprise that they would have such stream numbers. And the thing is: I don't understand the unjustified jealousy from SC2 players to LoL's stream numbers. Yeah, yeah, casual game (insert elitism here), but how is the development of e-sports hindered by having a huge LoL fanbase? How could that POSSIBLY be a bad thing? Why aren't people happy that so many others are willing to support e-sports? When DH gives sponsors the viewer counts, how can any SC2 fan be sad that LoL brought in 150k+ viewers? Please, stop being so stupid about this. Yeah, LoL has more viewers. Does that make LoL any different? Does that make SC2 any different? Just be happy that we have a burgeoning e-sports scene. A year ago, no one could have imagined such numbers, both for LoL and for SC2. And when the cross-pollination inevitably occurs, that just means more fans for both games. BE HAPPY. PLEASE. | ||
