I thought a walkover meant you get the win but no points. Is this true? This may mess up White-Ra getting into the playoffs. All sjow would have to do is win against incontrol.
My only real complaint about this league is the large amount of walkovers, it really is changing the brackets, and there are alot of matches id love to see.

Nope. That only applied to one of the walkovers early in the league because it was a scheduling mixup or something out of the players control or something like that. I don't remember the exact situation anymore.
On June 10 2011 10:17 PigglyWinks wrote: It's bullshit that divisions are decided by walkovers. It's not like there isn't huge money on the line either.
Yeah, we actually had 3 guys fighting for that 2nd spot in this division.
Then White-Ra just gets a walkover and the games become pointless.
I'm not a pro so maybe talk is cheap but wouldn't it have been very easy for incontrol to just pop 2 forcefield down behind the last unit in line? that way he wouldnt lose 6-7 units
I don't think I have actually seen White-RA actually play a game in the NASL yet. It seems like every time I manage to tune in on time he just gets a walkover. I would like to get a NASL season pass in the future, but I'm not going to if every time one of my favorite players plays he just gets a walkover instead.
I just dont understand incontrols thought process. He kept poking in sjows nat, only to back out almost immediately and lose tons of units to concussive shells. Back up and get a 3rd man, maybe some templar or something, at least wait for double forge to kick in.
So since White-Ra and Sjow both technically went 2-0 and have equal points + win/loss ratio, does it mean White-Ra advances since he won the series between them?

Sad part is that I really want to get excited about todays NASL matches, but all of them seem to be favoring 1 player extremely.
incontrol may have dropped out of the playoffs also. He was sitting just in the top 30 before this week. You have to think he'll drop a bit with a 2-0 loss.
So, is qxc able to do anything besides a 2 rax ? every game i've seen him in he relies on this 2 rax to get into a "good" game. Darkforce GGing is just pathetic. I would never gg a game against him. The same with goody, watch those 2 players try something else and they'll fail.

2 rax is a standard opening. A lot of players in the GSL use it too. It's not like it's impossible to win vs. it -.-
2 Racks is just a great opener. It allows early harassment while also permitting one to follow-up with either strong harassment/pressure or into an expansion.
I honestly don't know why you would ever do speedling opening instead of hatch first zvt. I've seen z players do that lately, but I can't see what the benefits are. It's worse economically and you can't put up a spine crawler vs 2 rax pressure.

It's safer and it allows easy map-control for the Zerg to hold easy towers and note any further pushes or see any early expansion from the Terran.

It's safe, gives great early game map control, can completely shut down a 2 rax when it's scouted and gives you the opportunity to attack if you spot a weakness. Strong against hellion openings too if you don't like going roach.
I personally don't like it and always go 15hatch but i can understand the benefits. I'd just personally rather have the economy and creep at my natural.

I don't think it's safer vs either of 2 rax or hellion as you have no creep to put a spine crawler on. Instead it forces z to build a bunch of preemptive lings to be able to intercept a 2 rax. Lings which are of next to no use vs a terran early game.
How are you going to see an early expansion? Terrans always build their ccs behind their wall-in and floats it to their expo.

i posted the current standings earlier in the thread
qxc is falling so far behind the curve. Not leapfrogging his tanks completely lost him the game. He doesn't even spread out his tanks, just keeps them clumped up in a small ball. At this point MMA is the player qxc should have become. Amazing drop harass, superb micro and a 3-lettered handle to boot.

Yeah, when he was in Europe not practicing it really hurt him

I think when he gets to Korea and starts practicing again, he'll become the Sir TryHard he will know and love again :-D
I'm not sure I understand his spine placement. Hellions just run behind his nat, he has to pull his queen, this allows hellions to go up the ramp. If he'd just hugged his hatch with them, he could have covered his ramp, and largely behind his mineral line as well.
does QXC strike anyone else as one of the most bizarre human beings ever? I've seen like 30 of his interviews and he's just insane in every one of them

That's what makes QXC awesome as a person and player!

Grubby took Rainbow out of season 2.
Qxc might take darkforce out (if a few more upsets happen).
What is up with people who are like 0-8 destroying dreams?
Ummm... darkforce looks pretty much locked into both a playoff spot and next season... It is very very unlikely that he can be eliminated (i don't even think its possible but I don't want to go through the math).

Go back a page, i've been doing a live table after every set. You can pretty much figure things out from just looking at it, but yeah, July and White-Ra are confirmed as the top 2.
On June 10 2011 11:31 Elegy wrote: lol is there a screenshot of the webcam quality?
I didn't manage to get one, but I did find an old mugshot of qxc from his youth.
I saw this and was interested so I decided to do some digging, it seems QXC has invented some form of cloaking technology, unfortunately it only works on his face in photos and on webcams.
Oh wow, that was pretty solid defense of the 4-gate by TT1, I don't think those forcefields could have been better, he got so much units basically for free and lost almost nothing
Catz read reddit lately, and has decided to smarten up his image! Looking like a man-crush is actually going to happen. After all this time, Catz, you've driven me away! Loooooking sharrrp!
Don't really know how the placing works considering moman beat incontrol but lost to cruncher, incontrol beat cruncher but lost to moman and cruncher beat moman but lost to incontrol. So i've put them in point order.
Is there any legitimate reason that Gretorp doesn't seem to know the playoffs/finals scenarios? He THINKS that TT1 winning means he clinches a playoff spot. Shouldn't this be something he KNOWS?
I was just debating the merits of doing a cheese two times in a row, since no one would ever do a cheese twice in a row when it failed so bad the first time
Cutoff #2 -- This is the 30 player line. If the season ended today, every player above this line would be in the playoffs. Below this line, people still have a chance to make it in if one of the above players loses this week.

Anyone notice at the end of the cast when Gretorp and Incontrol are sitting down after they take off their jackets. The next scene where they have jackets and they are playing music, Gretorp looks over at iNcontrol and says "What the F*** is that?"
from what I understand if bratok beat stalife TLO go to playoffs? if stalife wins TLO bust? could someone clarify TLO situation it looks like he's last on the playoffs list right now. I'm a bit confused -P thx edit:also above list says the contrary but I don't see what has changed.

There are 30 players with 4 wins or better.
Of the 4-win players, TLO are the second lowest point-wise. (-1pt)
The highest scoring 3-win player that have yet to play is Stalife (-2 pt), next up is ClouD and dde with (-5pt).
That means only Stalife will jump TLO in ranking if he went 2-0. No other 3-win players have points high enough to surpass TLO.
Therefore TLO will be in the playoffs.
A corollary of this is that iNcontroL is the most vulnerable of the 4-win players and will most likely not make the playoffs.
Well hopefully Incontrol becomes an advocate for changing the NASL format for the next season now. The current format is neither the most exciting for the viewers, nor the most fair due to the sheer amount of W.O.s.

shame that geoff lost though, sjow is a beast

I might be wrong but I think whitera beat sjow so whitera advances.... don't quote me
What is up with NASL stream? It even lags on 240p!! I'm sure it is not because of my connection because I had it checked on both speedtest and ping test, no packet loss and my connection was rated B(very good). It worked fine in MLG (I had both streams on high quality open at the SAME TIME, and they both worked flawlessly), but NASL always lags every two second, on every resolution! It used to work about a month ago, but it just drives me crazy nowadays!
Anyone else this happens to? Does anyone know why? Is this because of justin.tv?

If I am not mistaken White-Ra did won over SjoW so it might be counted.
