Okay we're going to start cracking down on people bashing players for no reason. You don't have to like every player, but at least show some respect. (as of page 402)

well I think there are some nonkoreans who can compete

what comes to mind is white-ra, dimaga, naniwa, huk, maybe jinro or kas, thorzain, happy, idra, sen, maybe some chinese guys... prolly some others im not thinking of. and then there are some others who can win but only if they are really on their game. im thinking like sheth or kiwikaki level.

Definitely. So far the only ones to take a series from the koreans are Naniwa and Idra (who are considered some of the best foreigners in the world anyway). With this Win from july though the koreans are now 15-2 (series won, games it's more like 50-5 or something lol). They're definitely on another level overall, with only a few foreigners being able to evne keep up.

What is the point of 2 streams if they are just gonna have the same feed on both? We are missing good games!

Thanks for the updates, Tyler maybe starting to eat his words about ex WC3 players now .

Aren't all those up and coming chinese players former WC3 pros as well?

yeah but that's because wc3 was huge in china

WC3 is not that huge in china because of dota but it's still decent enough, I expect Infi and th000(if they switch) to do very well.

really? there are still many tournaments and i always hear wc3 is really huge in china.

edit: sorry i don't wanna go off topic ^_^

It's ironic - most of the very high level WC3 pros - Grubby, Lyn, etc - are not doing all that great. Many of the lesser known WC3 players are doing amazing.

Like others have said, it really doesn't matter too much what game you played before SC2.

Kind of funny how almost every single top Zerg, both Korean and foreign, are ex-BW pros. Only ones who aren't are Violet, Moon, and I suppose Stephano on a good day.

July's weakness is that he never gets to late game, if a terran turtles and wait 200/200 to attack unlike Sjow did he could be in a lot of trouble. MVP usualy starts the attack when he secures his fourth vs zerg.

Indeed. You can't really compare below-the-best foreigners to the best Koreans. That comparison doesn't even make sense. IdrA, Naniwa, Thorzain - they're the real deal when it comes to foreigner pros and it'll be interesting to see how they do when the deciding games come.

Too bad more top foreigners, esp. Europeans, didn't attend this MLG. But I think we'll have a good sampling by the end of the tournament.

hmm the koreans only send a couple of guys over. some may argue they are the top few. but look at the average skill level in GSL. Moon is probably the btm threshold for the foreigners. If they cant even beat him, getting into code s is near impossible

This is true, sjow has just not been performing well tbh.
I also think Koreans look so good when they beat foreigners cause they are so agressive and when your not used to that kind of agression your play just falls apart so someone like sjow could be thrown off and just not playing as well as he could (take turning around when his main got countered in game 2).

Lyn was Code S. He plays quite well, would love to see him in tournaments except GSL
